Default Moon Bow....only one in the Western Hemisphere....KY

A Moon bow is like a rainbow only the "bow" is created by the moon's light instead of the sun's.
This VERY unique phenomenon appears no where in the Western Hemisphere EXCEPT in Cumberland Falls State Park, located in Daniel Boone National Forest near Corbin, Ky. It's known as the "Niagara of the South" the Falls form a 125-ft.wide curtain that plunges 60-ft. into a boulder strewn gorge below. The mist of Cumberland Falls creates the magic of the Moon bow only visible on a clear night during a full moon.

Interesting??? I am looking into this more, but wanted to share it with ya'll in case you didn't have anything else to do! Just kidding!

    Where does it mention moonbow?

I'm currently attempting to match up our map fragments with satellite photos of the park.
Try working on the clues while listening to the Myst soundtrack.

Ummm....it doesn't mention moonbow...this is just a crazy thought that I had. I was reading somewhere (I have read soooooo much) and it made me think of the moonbow so I just wanted to throw it out there for ya'll. Also, Cumberland Falls must be open to the public all night or there would be no way anybody could see this phenomenon. Now, I have looked back at the book and really can't connect the falls to anything in the book, but I'm going to research it a little more. I'll let you all know if I find anything remotely concrete.

Cumberland falls isnt open all night long. You can drive through the falls state park but not go to the actual falls except during open hours which is 6am-11pm.

That seems kinda silly to me...not your post but that they are not open to the public all night....how in the world do people see the moonbow if it isn't open all night?

It says...about the grotto...."Once, a clear stream had spilled from the grotto's mouth and splashed over pale rocks into the valley below"....sounds like a waterfall there.

I have been looking for things to go with the waterfall/moonbow thing all day, but haven't found anything promising, yet....I'm not giving up, though...I'm gonna keep looking into this one.
