    Hold the phone.

If one had to park for the Prayerbook cross it would be on JF Kennedy Drive. This is where I suspect the tree is. May be it makes sense after all!

Thanks for posting these pictures, Digitizer. (The flying Rusful token is a nice touch )

The first picture shows the path leading from the street up to the cross. The cross is barely visible on the left side just right of the tall skinny, gray tree. I'm wagering that the tree on the right near the street is where the token was hidden. Other pictures show that tree from another angle.

It's hard to see on the large cross, but there are smaller crosses that are more like the crosses in the Starz clues (each leg is the same length). A little tie-in to the clues thematically?

I'm not so sure about the PKNG solution either. The JFK street is not an obvious or particularly contained site. The missing 'R' is also inconsistent with the other vowel-less words (although if PK is okay for Park, PKNG should be fine for Parking).

    A similar rearrangement could be:

GOLDEN GATE PK PRYR BK CRS SGN,

where the final word could be 'sign', indicating a clearly visible sign at the base of the hill. You'd be left with only one 'S' in cross, but if some method of decoding lead to this string of letters, I'd be satisfied with the clarity of the solution.

For what it's worth, I'll be extremely surprised if the order of letters is not indicated either by the colors of the center squares, or alternatively by the various patterns of light tan squares. Unlike background details or subtle smudges, the use of different colors is a clear, deliberate choice by the author, and currently has no relevance to the solution.

Also of note, the only word in the proposed sequences with more than 4 letters is "GOLDEN", and the 'E' and 'N' are the two letters on the unusual crosses...i.e. the only cross with a tan center, and the only one with no tan squares at all.

It actually gives me some solace to know that even though the site is so close to me, I couldn't even find the place now with 95% of the solution!

Wow, I posted that last entry before I saw the pics. Makes me think even more that the final word might be 'sign'.

A good thought, but 'prayer book cross' is the real landmark (not the prayer book).

For those trying to reverse engineer and looking for reasons why a 'G' could be the first letter, keep in mind that something like

PRYR BK CRS SGN, GOLDEN GATE PK would also be reasonable. I suppose even something like

    PRAYER BK CRS SGN,
    GOLDEN GT PK

    or

GOLDEN GT PK, PRAYER BK CRS SGN

    would work too.

I am completely stumped by this. It has to be the colors, right?

Okay, here's a thought...the image above is from the "Prayer Book Cross" location Amy mentioned in her interview as Rusful's hiding place.

From looking at the STARZ clue background (image), and the myriad references to a "clock" the book ATT, one may gather that we are looking at some sort of "star clock":

The wisdom of the ancients was based on a star culture, so we must look to the stars for an answer and since in each case, the Shamanistic and animist Serpent or Dragon or constellation is rotating around a centre pivot of the pole star, we must look to the circumpolar constellations for an answer.

We will use a Hellenistic Greek Zodiac originally drawn in 500BC to describe the wheeling circumpolar stars and compare it with a computer model of the North circumpolar constellations in 500 BC using a modern Astronomical program.

It is obvious that they were tracking the position of the sun at night and using Draconis to pinpoint it's position in the night sky.

This measurement was achieved with an instrument that has disappeared from history only to be seen as a religious symbol.

The wheel cross or the cross and plumb line...

The knowledge held by the Classical Greeks was destroyed as depicted by the crucifixion of the Serpent Draconis on the cross in this early alchemist image, probably with the burning of the Library at Alexandria by religious fanatics, the Inquisition and the destruction of the Amerindian civilizations by the Conquistador.
The following is an instrument to measure time (a clock, if you will) by using "star" positions and our "SUN":
    The Working Celtic Cross

The prototype instrument constructed by Crichton E M Miller in 1998 measuring the angle of the rising sun.

This version of a working Celtic Cross works as a mariners instrument.

The wheel rotates on an axle and is weighted at the bottom so that 0 degrees always points to the earth's centre through the constant effects of gravitational pull, in the same way as a plumbline and bob would do.

Since the wheel is a model of the planet didvided into degrees of arc, any angle is read directly from the scale and allows the immediate calculation of latitude.

This attribute allows the pre construction surveying of buildings, cartography , and the measurent of stars and planets for astronomy

But its greatest attribute is to measure the forgotten zodiac, the wheel of time and observe the ruthless recurring cycles of destruction and rebirth.

It was only by observing the sky that our ancestors understood the nature of Time resulting in a philosophy for life designed for survival of our species.

    What do you all think?

    Uh, that is:

"... the myriad references to a "clock" [in] the book ATT, one may gather that we are looking at some sort of "star clock"...
    =============================================

The Serpent, the Wheel, the Cross and the Stars (STARZ) may have bridged the gap to Amy's find at "Prayer Book Cross".

    Anyone, anyone?
