Default Serendipity Updated their website! #68 is Nomans Island!

Here's the update information now posted on the Serendipity Press Website. I am thrilled to finally have closure!

This is what the update says:

Thank you for participating in The Buried Treasure Game. We received tens of thousands of pieces of mail and tried to keep up with the volume of questions and clues as best as we could. As you may know, there were no winners to the game. When we first decided to publish this book and work with Martin Sloan, we had no idea how big the game would become. We had to designate a full time employee to the game and so there were no profits to the game. At this time we would like to offer you some more information about the game. There seemed to be five more difficult questions to answer. Of these five, only questions 72 and 100 were used as missing letters in the clues. Here are the question numbers and answers: 68. Nomans Island 72. Gorge 93. Solstice Stones 97. Helium Time Columns 100. Fort Jefferson National Monument The location of the treasure was: Ginn Field, Winchester, Massachusetts, intersection of Bacon Street & Mystic Valley Parkway, behind the bridge and on the slop leading towards the Aberjona River. Martin Sloan is working on a follow up game and hopefully you will enjoy this book too. Editors Serendipity Press

Oh how unbelievable. That is what I had! But I never put in that exact phrase. I cannot believe it. Check this old thread:

to see my theory--which turned out to be right! I had it!!! I am so mad. Oh well. The time has long past.

    Wow.

Belated Congrats PapaS! That is so cool that you had it all along. Not only "was" it solvable...but it was solved by a 12'er.

I can finally get a good night's sleep

dont you just love how they slipped in the second to the last line?

Thanks fox. I was a little bummed last night about the whole thing when I found out, but now that's my attitude too: just glad I 'got' it (even if I never submitted the right combo).

I hate to say this... but I find myself thinking I may be playing along with that 'next' game. I really did have a ton of fun playing TBTG, even though it was virtually unsolvable.

papaskully, as far as I'm concerned, you won the dang thing.

The "exact lettering" rule was a little too strict, I think. But I do see the reason for it. Too bad that sometimes the "correct" answer was not the most common way to refer to it.

I'm with you Skully. Even "if" (and that is a big IF) # 68 was created to basically be impossible to solve by including Allaha.... and even if (which isnt too big at all) I didnt solve the whole darn thing and revel in my riches..... I HAD A BLAST with the book.

I WILL be playing his next outing......... case closed!

I'm not on for a couple of weeks and the answers to TBTG come out...lol! Well...I'm glad there's closure on 68! After checking my incorrects, I never said nomans island. Many variations but not that wording.

Does anybody know if Serendipity is going to explain HOW the 25 clues lead to the solution they've indicated on the website? Otherwise, couldn't they just tell us it was buried anywhere?
