    Default #68 is Nomans Island!

Is the link below the correct Nomans Island?

    http://www.mass.gov/dep/cleanup/sites/nlihstry.htm

If so, would someone please help me understand how to get this answer from the clues. Thanks!

    atombanger--

Check out this old thread over here

    http://www.tweleve.org/forum/viewtop...ghlight=nomans

I explain there how Nomans Land Island is the correct answer.

Nowhere anywhere did I see it simply listed as Nomans Island. I'm pretty bummed (probably just for tonite ).

    This page

    http://www.members.tripod.com/airfie...elds_MA_SE.htm

is what showed me the navy/bomb details. Scroll down to the Nomans Land stuff.

I did a little extra searching just now and of couse, it IS referred to as Nomans Island in a couple places. But even on Wikipedia (I swear that entry wasn't there a year ago) it's only referred to as Nomans Land.

    Default Allaha?

    Papaskully,

This is great info! I'm still baffled how the clue "Allaha" fits into the picture.

I am glad we finally get to see an answer that seems to fit the clues. As for Allaha, were you all able to fit all the clues for all the other answers? I remember a couple of amusement parks that fitted a couple of the clues and that was all...

    Allaha kinds of birds? ouch!

Would love to see their explanation for Allaha. Willing to bet that if Martin used another linking word, this would have been found long ago. Does allaha even fit? We may never know......

here is overhead of where the treasure was buried...

    http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en...05364&t=h&om=0

the green arrow on left of page is intersection of Bacon St & Mystic Valley Parkway. I am assuming the bridge and hill refered to are the overpass. My guess is it was buried somewhere between the overpass and the ball field.

Winchester was first settled by Charlestown citizens who were granted land in the northern ranges of their town in the 1630's in districts originally designated Waterfield and Rockfield. Much of this land formed part of Woburn after that town was incorporated in 1642.

    Woburn sound familiar? LOL!

Allaha must be another sunken vessel--perhaps a smaller, unlogged fishing boat or something more recent. That's my guess, seeing as the other four names were sunken vessels as well.
