I too find myself "forcing" a fit for this floor. There doesn't seem to be a clear consensus on what state it even is. I think the Mi for Michigan is just too easy. Doesn't anyone around here go to the chat rooms?

Just a thought but... could the 4 tea cups and 4 t-shirts = 40? as in mile marker 40 or I40?

    and

has anyone identified the molecule in the picture above the umbrella stand?

    Just throwing something out here...

I've thought about using "335" (from the subscripts in C3H3O5N) as a number. We know that the true formula for PAN is C2H3O5N, so perhaps the error (C2 => C3) is meant to draw some attention to it, a la "56 Varieties" on the 7th floor.

A quick search reveals an I-335 in Kansas with only 1 rest area (at mile marker 132). Don't see how that fits. In Oregon, there is a rest stop at exit 335 on I-84. Don't see how that fits either.

It's been mentioned that this floor may work a little differently. If so, maybe this number will have some user after all.

The solution for y (in the blackboard equation) is 136.22, for easy reference. Any rest stops at 136/137?

Edit: California went first and I admit my enthusiasm is down, but far from keeping things close to the vest, I just haven't got much to contribute! Wishing good luck to all who are hunting this weekend and congratulations to those who have found. The jewels are really lovely - I hope folks are going to Anna Sheffield's site and letting her know (well heck, here's the link: http://blog.annasheffield.com/blog/2...was-unearthed/).

    AR (the missing element)
Interstate 40 ("4 tea" with the 'IN' sign clearly saying this)
MM 136.2 (the equation on the blackboard)

    Anybody try this?

    Default Ark. I-40 exit 243

If indeed this is Arkansas, the Hyw is probably I-40.
The rest area mile marker may be 243.
I come to that conclusion by counting the different
colored eyeballs on the "kitchen" table:
    2 green
    4 brown
    3 blue

It may be worth a look.
