Default Something there too small for my old eyes

The toilet seemed peculiar to me. It has a funny cylindrical protrusion, and appears to be a urinal or bidet. It has something written on it, but I can't make all of it out:

    R. Mutt

is possibly it. I'm sure about the R. M part, the next letter could be a v, there might follow a space, and the last either the double tt, a #, or maybe an asterisk?

    Hi cosmicjay,

Believe it or not, that's no toilet, it's art. It is Marcel Duchamp's "Fountain" which is signed with the pseudonym, "R. Mutt". The piece was considered very shocking in its day.

nice find. just looked at it with a magnifier. It appears to be

    R. MU(or v) slight space, then tt ...but my first impression is that it is a # sign.

On another note, when deconstructing some ofthe other solves, I have notice additional confirmers. One was on the VA find. Not only are there the paintings with the VA connection, the more obvious...glaringly actually, is the X on the manilla envelope on the toilet.

Time to do more looking. Obviously stuff can be missed very easily.

I think I missed something... what does the manila envelope on the toilet have to do with VA?

On the VA find floor there is a envelope, it has an X on it. This is the roman number for for 10. Virginia is the 10th state to join the Union. I was merely showing that the pictures on the wall- all having a VA relation- were not the only confirmers of the state for which that was found. When reading over the clues for each state of the found numbers, I was surprised-in this case- that the pictures were mentioned as the state confirmer. That is a much harder correlation to come to when right there on the toilet is an X o the envelope.

    Hope that clears that up.

Default Why 13 floors for 12 numbers?

According to the back cover of the book,
the clues to the locations of the 12 numbers
    lurk within the 13 floors.

Have any of the images from the 13th floor been
used to find the locations? What is the purpose
of floor 13, as far as finding the emeralds is
    concerned?

The two clocks show approximately 1:25

These are some of the only "real numbers"
that I can see on this floor.

We could start to count the yellow roses
    or the candelabra...

All of the artwork "speaks" of a museum.
    Any thoughts on this?

    Default 1-1-8

There are some other real numbers here...
    Forgot to include the 1-1-8
numbers on the piece of paper...
presumably the combination to the safe..

    Default 12-13 used in conjunction

The more I look at this, the more I think that
the top two floors will be used together to find
the most valuable of all the numbers...the "12".

As I pointed out before...the book's back cover does
say that "thirteen floors" have the clues to the
    locations of the twelve numbers.

I have been trying to use the images on floor 13 to help
give clues to looking at the clues on floor twelve...or
    vice-versa.

(With all of the modern art, I have been looking for a
museum of National recognition status....like MoMA...
to be a location indicator...New York City?)
