## The Mother of all Hints

"There's a card missing." Shall we all compare ideas on what this means? This was the hint posted on Steve's blog.

2. This is exciting - i posted a solution which would fit that clue well.
My idea was to use the intials of the cities to make the name of the missing card.
VOLEDA, which i deduced must be the Lion General.

The poster at the conferences had a single blank space on it.
But there were things i didn't use like TRIPLET and the twins, so we'll see.

3. We know that there is a card missing.

We also know that the Generals all have six-letter names, with the letters in reverse alphabetical order. Given the six locations from the Morse code solutions and the setter's
admitted penchant for acrostics, it seems evident that the missing card is a General. Namely, General VOLEDA. This would be the 9th General in the game.

It seems logical given the name of the game that this card would be Card 0. There are 85 combinations of the attributes that sum to zero. All but one was used, and that one is the one with all attributes equal to zero.

The real question, for me anyway, was how the TRIPLET solution came into play. I really liked having General Voleda as a member of the Lion Clan, because then that clan would have one of each rank, and the Lions could be considered as "leaders" of the other animal types. But that doesn't use triplet. A better alternative is that General Voleda is of the Crocodile Clan, and an identical sister to Guardian Untberry and Thegn Yexen. Not only does it use the "mirror" clue, but the Crocodile Clan would then have three identical members, a triplet. We then have used all the important numbers: 0,3,6,9.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow!

4. oh yes of course - triplets - well i've got half of it right i think.

although steve saying the crocodile twins is a confirmer as opposed to a major part of the solution doesn't quite fit...

5. What ultimately changed my mind is that the Crocodile Clan is the only clan that can add a member to become a trio. The reflection/mirror bit is helpful, but not necessary to come to that conclusion. If it turns out to be right, I'm just sorry I didn't have that insight earlier.

6. Hopefully I have completed enough of the solution and someone else hasn't got the 100% answer.

7. 11/12 according to the solution page
Army Of Zero - The Solution - Card Games and Prize Puzzle Competition

fingers crossed!

8. Good luck!
