I'm not sure what all this Snail talk is, but I was certainly there before you, and I found the solution completely independantly of anyone posting it on-line. In fact, the snail solution wasn't posted until after it was found.

Well I was there before noon, as were Dave, cegadsey, and several others. If you were scooped on this one, it wasn't because someone posted the solution at noon.

    That is so sad.

But look, there is nothing stopping you from challenging the trooper in court. The fact that the trooper found it by "luck" basically may void all of his rights to it if you reveal how he truly found it even if they figure out the solution. Some states laws do not honor this type of treasure hunt winnings if they are found by luck because that would place it up their with the lottery which has a whole other set of laws.

Look, if your story is true as you say, and we believe, you have everything you need to prove your case. Tow reciepts, and the trooper would have called in to dispatch, and so on and so forth.

Its an option, I don't know if it would be worth it in the long run, but some lawyers get paid only when the results are good.

Ok I am Katiebug2, FIRST of all, YOU have no idea what my husband went through. I won't go into anymore detail then I already did in my story, but you have no right to say those things. He was very alone, very scared and when help arrived he was just so glad to see another human being that he spilled the beans when the cop asked him what he was doing. And SECOND of all, he did not point out where he was!!! I think you would be surprised by what desperation will make you do.

I think you are a really mean and horrible person for talking like that when you have no idea what happened.

By the way, let's not go around calling people stupid and an idiot when there are children that read these!!!

I think you should refrain from posting unless you can say something nice.

    Bass,

I apologize to all for using the strong language, but this posting of solutions and locations before a token has been found is really upsetting to those of working hard to solve them the right way. I don't know if the person who found it actually decoded it on their own and neither does anyone else. But it was entirely possible for someone to read that post and get there having never done any of the work before it was found.

I agree FULLY that all of this solution posting should not happen, and it severely takes away from the enjoyment of the hunt. I was going to go after the butterfly this weekend and cancelled my trip when the main clue was posted for no apparent reason at ATT. My only point is that it seems a little extreme for anyone to state that they personally were scooped in this situtuation, when there were several hunters at the tree before the solution was posted.
