i see what you mean...

has anyone noticed that in some corners ther are sides that are not colored blanks, letters, or woodgrains? For example, look to the right of the first e in reveals, above the I and D in abide, and to the left of the U in treasures.

They are consistent with the backgrounds of the woodgrain blocks. I think the puzzle is in the woodgrains, and he didn't need these, so, as they were somewhat unobtrusive, he left them blank. I think the woodgrains are key because they are the only things that look as if they could have been added after the fact when he had a confirmed location. All the other things are too defined to have been changed.

That's an interesting observation. I've seen it mentioned before but never really thought it through.Originally Posted by honeybee
He would have created all the artwork in advance, leaving areas to put the coordinate markers. This would be the case on all the puzzles, and if you think about it, it would work for all of them.
But on this page there are several other areas that could be added after the fact. Besides the grains, the triangles and border colors could have been colored afterward also.
Like the red, for example. All of the colors on the page have sort of a mottled appearance, except the red. Why is that? It looks like it was added at a different time.
Jimbo,
I also noticed that the color red is too clean. I think all the rest of these paintings were watercolors or some other water-based medium. The coverage in the colors besides red is consistent with that. The red looks like it was done with some other medium.
The border on the "G" at the top is also not complete - it is the only one that I see that way. It has a small brown triangle. Thought it might be simply an error, but there is a definite line ending the blue color.
Something else I noticed is that there is only one point where all 6 (including brown) colors come together: immediately to the right of the word "Theft" in the title.
FWIW.
Steve
slang,
i reccomend reading all the other posts
the triangle has been mentioned more than any other thing
Well, considering there are currently 35026 posts (not counting yours and mine) and figuring 10 seconds per read (rather swift, I would say) that would only take me a bit over 97 hours. Uh... nah.Originally Posted by cdog122

BTW, at least I can spell the word "recommend". Perhaps you could use the prominent "SpellCheck" button before jumping on someone, eh?

Slang,
I'll tell you what I told someone else--I appreciate any contributions that you care to make, and so I encourage you to continue posting.
As I told someone else here, if you're going to be dissuaded from participating in on-line discussions, as well as anything in life by some opinion that is contrary to what you'd like to hear, then you won't make it very far past your front door. (Or, if you lived with people like me, you probably wouldn't make it out of bed.)
It's evident that Cdog doesn't make the effort to spell or punctuate. And from the substance of his posts, I'd say that he also hasn't taken the time to read most of the material posted here either. I've got no problem with that (or him) and I appreciate his effort as well.
Continue to post.
I'll take input from anyone who's bright enough, and community-oriented enough to post (instead of just reading).
