Default rants of a frustrated treasure hunter

they said this forum was for ranting, so this forum is now the little room that I can go in, shut the door, and scream my head off

    *closes door*

    AHGGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
This book has given me headaches worse than high school trigonometry
I'm completely lost, I like the idea but all im finding is little bits of info that don't lead no where, "look near the overlook" "find the mates" and people are saying they've foung Locations , how???

    *opens door*

it's 4 in the morning so if yall would just overlook that,
i can't sleep cause i keep thinking about this book, It's not even the treasures that I'm after anymore, it's like a riddle that you just want to know the answer to. I dont know

    Happy hunting all
feel free to use my little room for your own purposes

(although that spider would be really nice)

Yeah, I'd like to know about these "locations" too. I mean, just so I can feel ok in ignoring them for their obvious crazyness.

**Cat finishes reupholstering the walls in nice, soft, pastel rubber...**

joppeyman, it ain't over 'till it's over. And I think you hit it... it's no longer necessarily wanting to find a treasure but solving the darn thing!!!

Confidence is a tricky thing. Some people have to feel "in control" enough that they decide they KNOW things even if the logic is shaky.

(PLEASE don't get upset if you feel you know where a token is... I'm making generalizations, here!!)

Others quietly plug away, building brick upon brick of logic until the answer comes.

We all work differently, think differently, and reason differently.

Keep going, and rant in here whenever you want.

**I kind of like it in here... nice and quiet... going to my "happy place"...**

hmm......I like what you've done to the place cat, the punching bag was a nice addition.

I was just wondering if any of yall have gotten completely obsessed with this thing? I dont have ocd, but I just stayed up the entire night looking for clues and then looking in the forum to see if anyone else had already said something about what I had found. Now it's time to go to work, but I know that I'll be thinking about this book the entire time that I'm there and I'll probably have my nose back in the book when I get home (if I don't have it in a pillow) but I'm enjoying it so far, and I hope the rest of yall are too, welp, happy hunting all.

Let's just say I UNDERSTAND completely...

Moderating this board has taken a chunk out of my "book time". Seems all I can do is double-check the things people say they see, not study things like I was doing.

(I double-check because we don't want people deliberately misleading others to give themselves an advantage.)

And I'm trying to clean things up a bit... like consolidating *like* threads, cleaning up some of the "head-nod" threads, etc.

So it takes time, but it's a labor of love.

Whoever finds these tokens... I hope being here will have been a help and an encouragement.

I would just like to take a moment to thank 'j' for creating this space!!!

Now, why does it seem like I'm missing something by not having the companion book!!!

I now just completely pass by the 'companion book' part of the forum because it makes me sooooo mad!!!!
I think page 11 in ATT is just part of the dang puzzle, because 'hello', you need special knowlege**companion book/google** to decipher, let alone figure out what is a clue/key!! And honestly, like any of us is gonna have a dream revealing the location of tokens!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, my schizophrenic daughter might hear a voice revealing the info, but mine is totally not helping in this!!!LOL

Woah, beckasue, no need to attack the rubberized wall!
Yes, there are a number of odd things in the companion book, and yes, it certainly gets you in the frame of mind to be looking for optical illusions, puzzles, and riddles. But don't worry, there aren't going to be any direct clues there.

When I started hitting my first roadblocks with ATT, I turned to the companion book for some answers, and ohh boy, it seemed at first like it was full of 'em. I started noticing literally dozens of strange things about the book -- the whited out page of Voynich (which my brother just posted), the non-standard morse code, mixed up alphabets, etc. I'm not mentioning anything that hasn't already been pointed out, but trust me, there are loads of other weird things going on in the companion book -- stuff that seems so darn compelling that I spent two weeks (I repeat, TWO FRIGGIN WEEKS) working on it.

So, why do I say that this isn't important? Well, after Stadther posted about the Beetle mistake, I started to wonder, hmm, maybe there are other mistakes ... golly, maybe all these modified pictures and codes that I'm using from the companion book are just that: mistakes.

Finally I just emailed Stadther to ask. His response was almost immediate. Though he didn't go through a point-by-point refutation of the things I listed, he said that in the rush to get the companion book published, a lot of mistakes were made. He was trying to fix them in subsequent reprintings, but the most important thing, he reminded me, was that the companion book is "a stand alone book of puzzles to get you thinking." In other words, it may help, but it has no direct answers.

I won't post the laundry list of things I've found in the companion book, mostly because I think it will steer everyone off course. (I told my brother about this, too, and didn't think it would be productive to mention the whited out Voynich, but he wanted to see what others thought.) Trust me, our time is better spent working on the real hunt.[/i]

from the book ATT ,page twelve, paragraph beginning with

    2) Tou can find the twelve jeweled creatures and their mates hidden within the pages of the book.....

If any of yall were like me the first thing I did was look at the words in the pictures, then looked for the hidden bugs, then actually read the story, although haven't yet figured out what you do with the insect pairings yet, I'm trying not to throw anything out that might be important

currently I'm scanning the pages of the book into the computer bit by bit
and you have no appreciation for how long this story is until you start scanning it page by page.

I hope this eases your pain.... I gave my one and only copy of the companion book away last week... I really have to say you are not missing much... Denise
