    Default Movie rights sold

saw on cinescape.com that ATT movie rights have been sold for "mid six figures". Go MS.

I'll go if they had out golden tokens. Maybe the movie will have clues to find the theater treasures (flat sodas, half chewed gum, unpopped kernels).

i wonder if the movie will be the fairy tale, or something about the real life treasure hunt?
if it's not fun, what's the point?

Here's a copy of the press release for the forthcoming movie:
    Paramount Discovers A Treasure's Trove
    Source: Variety: February 9, 2005

Paramount has bought feature rights to Michael Stadther's bestselling children's book A Treasure's Trove and has set it up at Cruise/Wagner.

"Trove," which Stadther self-published in November, has caused a sensation over the clues in the book that lead to a dozen gold tokens hidden in public places in the U.S. and are redeemable for jewels worth a total of $1 million. The author hid the tokens himself and insists they can be accessed without digging, moving or disturbing objects or structures.

Stadther's book, whose full title is "A Treasure's Trove: A Fairy Tale About Real Treasure for Parents and Children of All Ages," revolves around 12 forest creatures who employ a woodcarver, his half-elf wife and their winged pet to save their friends who disappear after being crystallized by falling dust.

Not to put a damper on this, but remember, just because a studio buys the rights,
doesn't mean a film will be made. Studios buy the rights to many stories, just in case
one breaks out, but many never see the lights of the film crew.....so to speak.
