Default Are we looking for treasures already found?

Correct me if i'm wrong. Page 114 "redemption instructions" it reads " sponsor may not confirm verification of finders until after end date, (12/07) and will not transfer actual possession of the jewels until after the end date." My understanding is that we will not be informed of findings. or we do not need to be told about any or all findings. Also under: How to participate in this promotion. "The treasure hunt will run until all tokens are found and finders verified, or until december 31, 2007, which ever is sooner." The key word is is "finders verified" and page 114 states they may not verify until after the end date. My thought is that we will be kept in the dark until the end date as a result of "marketing" or the MS group may pick and choose which finds (if any) they want to make us aware of. So, can i assume that i might work long days, weeks, months, years, on a puzzle i didn't think had been solved, and then when i figure it out, i use my own expenses to go to the location to find out its not there. but it may be because its already been found? so we could be wasting our time on puzzles already solved? what do you guys think?.................

They'd be nuts not to confirm at least one independent winner so that we could all confirm that the puzzles are solve-able and that the tokens really do exist.

I didn't say they wouldn't tell us. I'm saying they DON'T HAVE TO. I'm saying they can pick and choose what they want to tell us. For example, lets say the spider and the ladybug were both found. they could tell us the ladybug has been found. This would be to their promotional advantage as you explain. That would encourage finders. But they CAN choose NOT to tell us about the spider, because that would be in there promotional DIS-advantage. That would discourage finders. So bottom line, the results are the same. We won't know if the treasures we are looking for have been found or NOT FOUND. Because we don't know which treasures the marketing group feels we should know about and which ones we shouldn't know about. I'm just stating thoughts based on the wording in the "official rules" i could be spending time on a puzzle that has already been solved?

E-mail this question to the author at the main web site of the book. He "replies" all e-mails. Getting an answer to your question from him though is another story.....

in yesterday's reading in Houston Stadther said he'd let us know as soon as someone redeemed a token, and which one it was.

He said he'd also let us know if a token was found and then NOT redeemed in the 30 days afterwards, as that would void the prize for that token

I'd feel more comfortable if MS said that he would let us know as soon as each and every token redemption is initiated and or found. As you can read from the rules, actual redemption can take as long as they want it to. up until 12/2007 is my guess. you must do things that the number on the token tells you to do. I personally don't know what those things are, or how long they are expected to take. You may be asked to provide solutions that led you to the location. those resposes must be verified as accurate. and then it must be determined that you used your intellect and skill to solve the treasure hunt. how long will it take them to do all this? will they have to do it in person? will they do it dec/07? i don't have a clue. but as i read the rules. I understand it as you have NOT REDEEMED anything until this process is complete. just want to know for sure.......

    lauriesc -
I agree that they "Don't HAVE to" inform us, but as it is now, with a public posting on their webpage, they can't lie to us either. They'd have to just remove that little post all together.

I'd also calm down about this, there's a lot of people all worked up about if a token has been found or not... come on, there are 13.... if 9 of them are found I'd still take a stab at the other 4.

I don't need to calm down. I'm by no means, in an uncalm state or any state but happy-go-lucky. lol, This is all in fun. I just don't want to spend my free time looking for something (wasting my time) that is no longer there. like you, i'd be more then happy to continue to search even if there are only four treasures left. I'd just like to know which ones are claimed to be "FOUND' and which ones are not. forget about whats "redeemed" I just don't want to waste my time due to a promotional issue, thats all. just looking for an honest answer................................

ok. its been more then 24 hours since I've sent my question. perhaps because its presidents day or maybe I made a return e-mail contact error. I've re-sent a question as follows: Will the public be informed shortly after (less then 7 days) every time, and anytime any token finder has called to initiate token redemption and/or claims to have found a token by calling or following the information on the back of the token?
    time is 6:47 2/21

    Thank you for contacting us!

Someone will respond within the next 24 hours.
