    Default Pike's Pursuit

    Alright, here it goes...

So the name is Pike, and the treasure is consuming my life. I purchased my copy of the book and the companion book on Valentines Day. Right away I was fascinated. By the next day I was formulating my grand theories. I find it difficult to sleep or do my homework, I may fail my senior year in high school (and I am one of the "smart kids"), and if I find one of the treasures I might just give up college and make the hunt full time. I have assembled a top notch treasure hunting team, here is a little bit about them:

Mr. Kleesh- He is my right hand man. His passion for the treasure is the closest I have seen to my own. He refer to him in casual circles as 'the muscle'. There is talk that when we find the treasure that the two of us will try to cheat out eachother. In that instance someone will most likely perish.

Nippy- He is our videographer. 12.5% Native American. He documents our many exploits for entertainment and posterity.

Sami (aka Some Chick)- She claims to be cryptologist, and constantly bugs me to find a keyword to use the ciphers with (any help here would be appreciated).

Dee-Lo- The biggest man in the area. He provides use with useful information to support our crazy ideas.

    P. Janks (aka Mr. President)- He shows great potential being a genius and all, and he is scheduled to be on the team for the next expedition.

Booth- He says he is in charge of logistics, and loves the road trippn'.

Ben- He is another genius that helps us out.

At our school we have some what of a cult following. There are many that love the pursuit and help in little ways everyday. Teachers, luchlady's, principals, coaches they all know about Pike' Pursuit. Yet of course there are the skeptics. People are betting against me (like my own brother), but it ain't no sweat to me.

Also I have enemies in this hunt. One is Macgyver, he is our token Filipino, and he is viewed as my archenemy and can not be trusted. Also I have reason to belive that another faction in search of the treasure is forming, but the intel is limited.

I have taken the liberty to notify the mass media. The school paper wrote a huge article on me and my team, and at our senior auction we successfully auctioned of a copy of the book and a day of hunting with us.

Now here is where it gets good...

On March 13, 2005, me, Mr. Kleesh, Nippy, and some chick traveled four and one half hours to an undisclosed location. We had a good idea that the Ladybug token was there. When we arrived we had a bout six hours to look. I had no idea how big the place was. However, we did see a strong correlation between the book and this location. we had some leads on where it could be, but at the end of the day decided we needed to re-work a certain thing I like to call the 'treasure map.'

The good news we think we are definitely on to something, and are planning to return to our undisclosed location sometime between 3/30 and 4/3. I am trying to get what we call the 'Van of Death' for our return trip, so we don't need to take the Civic or Cavy.

There is a video circulating that contains our first adventure, and our talent show skit. Soon a website will be put online dedicated to the pursuit. It will contain these great videos. I will keep this great cite posted on our adventures and the website.

As for my team, we can be found around our fine Northeastern Ohio suburb, hanging at Chipotle and the Nice Dudes Soccur Game every Monday at 7:00.

I wish you all the best of luck on the hunt for the treasure.

Don't mind cthree, he's seen it all and tends to be (shall we say) a BIT jaded???

Plus he likes using lots of similar letters in his posts.

Sounds like you're having lots of fun... just don't blow your senior year completely! Even treasures don't pay for your whole future.

A far better treasure is education, because no one can steal or cheat that away from you.

I'm looking forward to seeing your website!

    Default Pike's Pursuit Part Duex

Just returned from the second journey of Pike's Pursuit this weekend. It failed to live up to all the expectaions we had for it.

This time we only had three people; myself, and Mr. Kleesh, and Ben (Mr. President dind't come he was a little bit angry at some of his cabinet members earlier in the week). And we ended up taking the tricked out Civic. The new carbon fiber hood (that is an inch to small) killed our gas mileage.

We returned to the undisclosed location once again at around 1:30 on Friday, April 1, 2005. We went to set up camp at a nearby campground, and discovered Mr. Kleesh's mom gave us a tent that only fit one person. So I "Macgyvered" a makeshift tent out of a tarp, rope, and some trees.

We called our campsite Base Camp 1.

We then were off to search. A special trip to a location at the undisclosed location helped us realized that a map I had made was orientated the wrong way in relation to the undisclosed location. So we went to the new location and found some awsome sites there. However, still no token. One place would have matched one of the clues perfectly, but just recently the some 100 year old trees had been chopped down. I hope the Treasure wasn't there.

Now, this is where the story gets good.

On arrival back to Base Camp 1, after stopping at the groccery store for rations, it began to rain. Now I knew this was going to probably happen but didn't tell anyone since it had been 80 degrees, sunny, and clear all day. I had brought my tarp, becasue of this 90% chance of overnight rain (per the Weather Channel). We were in a bind, the fire couldn't be made without cover and we couldn't work on the treasure without decent shelter.
We ran back to the camp store to purchase some rope and a $30 dollar tent for me (I had a tent, Mr. Kleesh had a tent, and Ben slept in the Civic where I guess the rain made lots of noise as it hit the roof). With the rope I made the best shelter out of a tarp anyone could. It covered the fire and picnic table we worked at. So we had fire, food, and shelter, but our troubles didn't go a way.

Once we were all set up, we attempted to hook up to the wireless internet with Ben's laptop and $80 wireless card I bought for the trip. Base Camp 1 had internet, water, sewage, electricity, and cable (camping?). However, the internet was never able to work so we lost a vital tool in the hunt. Next, when we were readjusting the shelter for better water run off, water hit our worklight and the bulb exploded. So Mr. Kleesh ran to a Walmart for a new one. We finally began to work on the treasure and eventually went to bed.

I went to my tent after a warm shower (once again...camping?) And attempted to sleep, but just my luck the tent was leaking pretty bad, but I pushed on. On top of the leaking I had the fortune of recieving the funny (and somewhat drunken) phone calls from Nippy and Booth. We left without them and they were kind of angry, but we have since made up. The ironic thing is the one that wanted to keep this expedition on the downlow, Mr. Kleesh, is the same one that slipped up and told them about it to make them leave him alone.

In the morning, I woke up with only a couple hours of sleep at 6:30. I tried getting the fire back but it was too wet. Something like 4 inches had fallen overnight and it still was pouring. The camp was flooded for the most part, I kind of screwed up and let a big collection of water from the shelter spill under it. But we made breakfast on a camp stove. Ben almost burnt the shelter down in the proccess. Mr. Kleesh was the last one
up, and his shoes were flooded, because he left the tent open a bit. We had to leave since we had only a 15 minute window to pack up camp. It was raing like a monsoon for over twelve hours. No second day of hunting would be possible.

We then began our long journey home back to Ohio, waitng for what we call the "9/11 Signs" to let us know that the Pope had died.

Now back at Pike's Pursuit HQ we have some interesting news.

First, alot of new leads. They have the potential to be ground breaking.

Second, some new faces may be joing the Treasure Hunting Team. I'll keep you posted.

Third, the website should start development soon the original videos and the video of the latest adventure will be included. I'll keep you posted on this too.

Finally, we have some unsettling news. It appears that a schism is developing in the team, and alliegences are sketchy. Mr. Kleesh and Ben
are threatening to kick me out of my own creation for ridiculous reasons.
They think they can find it without me. Therefore I don't know where everyone will decide to go if a split occurs. However, Nippy and Some
Chick are loyal to me and are the only ones that are locked in for the next escursion. I hope our group doesn't end up as two competing teams, for that would be unfortunate. Only time will tell...

In conclusion the treasure is still out there...so it goes.

    Default pikes pursuit

i am a good friend of pikes and have seen this adventure unfold from the very beginning and let me tell you that we have to start making copies of the home video because it may be the single most hilarious video anyone has ever produced. I was very sad to hear that the 2nd leg of pikes pursuit was rained out and a second video will never make it into existence but as time wears on during this pursuit im sure with the help of all the characters in this very sad adventure pikes vision may finally come into reality. If and only if the filipino(aka macgyver) doesnt derail the hopes and dreams of all that know about the pursuit.
