Default Anyone recommend a satellite radio system?

XM or Sirius? Any recommendations or criticisms?

They seem the same to me... I have a birthday soon and my wife is looking to get one of these for me.

    Default XM Here

I've had XM for close to 3 years now. Its good, but my wife told me the other day that the cost is jumping from $9.99 to $11.99 a month. A 20% increase is not making me happy. Double-check this for yourself, tho. Sirius has the Slim Shady Channel, if that's your thing, and XM will be playing all MLB 2005 games at no additional cost. The channels are what you need to compare, more than the hardware.

I'm leaning toward the XM because of the Pac-10 college basketball and football coverage (I went to a Pac-10 school)... also seems there is more "indie/college" type music on XM.

Those 2, the NPR stations and maybe news would likely be the main focuses of my listening pleasure.

I plan to use it mostly in the car, but would like the option of using it as a walkman (which I have been told is not available with Sirius).

    Thanks for the input.

I can definitely recommend a Sirius....we love ours. We went with this one for NBA games. All depends on what you are looking for...but they are great.

We're XM people in our house. Try the My-Fi to go portable. It's a great deal!

I have seen them. They retail for $350 but you can get them brand new on ebay for $240 with shipping. Know of a better deal anywhere else? Thanks for the input.

Sirius. I'm long a ton of their stock and need to see it pop again.

    Ha.

Well, I just bought mine on ebay sealed/new from an authorized dealer for just under $230 with shipping including the car and home accessory kits and all the bells and whistles. Can't wait to try it out.
