    Default Beetle Photo

Of all the tokens I like the beetle. I have not been able to find a real picture of it. Does anyone, which I know someone will, have a link to a real picture that shows up close this work of art?
I think this is the jewlers masterwork.
    thanks

Picture of the token or the jewel?

You won't find a picture of the token until it is found. MS didn't release any photos for security reasons.
ok.. I can see I won't get anything done until 2007!

Check the video on the ATT website, THe Making Of the Jewels, it gives a good look at the beetle.

I am looking for a photo of the beetle. I'd like to see it up close and open. So far have found nothing that really shows detail.

There's an up-close picture on page 107 of the book. It's not open, but the picture is pretty detailed.

Actually look at the "Explore the World of ATT" link on the ATT site-- there is an MS interview from December 2004 on Fox, and you can see the articulation of the Beetle in action. When I met the jeweler Robert Underhill, he said the Beetle was his favorite in terms of mechanical articulation, and its uniqueness in that sense. He said that in 100 years, that piece will be the one that is highly valued for that accomplishment. He also said the Spider was his favorite one for the manterials used, and Dragonfly was his favorite for pure aesthetics. They are all breathtaking, but I have to say the Beetle impressed me the most also, seeing it in person.

for some reason the photo on page 107 looks like a drawing or something else to me. It doesn't look like a real object.

Well it looks like the Beetle is going to be found or has already. Can't wait to see the token.

wonder how the movie will work now that the tokens are found?

Elrohir's right - watching the video on ATT really does show the beetle well. The way the wings open when the snout is depressed is so interesting and unique.

The big tanzanite also lifts up and out as the wings open wider...just gorgeous!
