Thanks, Moscow - can you tell what the writing is on the wall by the boat? And who is joining hands with Harry? (Or are they arm wrestling for Cho's affection?!) ha ha

I found seven parties within a mile or two of my house - what a great link. Thanks!

Just curious, but why would you select a delicious bass?!

Have mine on reserve-can't wait for it to come in. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has reread them to prepare for the next! And when is the next movie coming???!! I love how they follow the books so well!

    Hey Merely;

The trailer I saw said the movie was coming in November. Several people screamed, "NOVEMBER?!" at the screen! Serious groans about having to wait so long. Fleur, Victor, and Cedric all looked remarkably like I had imagined them. I don't know who's more excited, me or my kids...

So what is everybody studying in grad school?

I too have reread the books before the next one comes out. I only wish I had some clues to what this one is about! I can't wait. That's a great site about where the parties are for the book release. I may drag my husband and kids to one while we're in Orlando. There's like 6 or so there, so I'm sure I'll find one. I won't be able to wait until we get home late monday to get it (even though I have one on hold at three different stores, just in case). I'm anxious for the new movie also. I hope it's not as choppy as the last few have been. Book 4 was my favorite and I think the most complex to adapt to a movie, so I'm anxious to see how it turns out.

    Carol-

I didn't even notice the writing on the wall. No wonder I haven't found any tokens yet! The hands.... oh, those hands... The first thing I thought of was Ron's injury in the Department of Mysteries. Is it something like that? Who knows.

That delicious bass that I caught you... well, that's a movie quote. It's the last line of Napolean Dynamite. It makes no sense, but that's about the point of the whole movie. I've only seen it once, but I can quote nearly the whole show, thanks in part to the fact that everyone else quotes it a lot. It's worth seeing once...

    cheers-

Default It's a big Harry Deal

Whenever the Harry Potter movies come out, we take our kids out of school the day it is released, at lunchtime, go to lunch, then see the movie before it's incredibly busy.
You should see the other kids' faces when they hear where we're going!
You only go around once in life, you know.

You could take that literally or figuratively, not noticing the writing on the wall! Had to laugh. I guess I've been hunting for treasure too long. Writing or no writing, I'm excited. Good luck with your studies!

And Sirdude, if you let my child hear that you take yours out of school for Harry Potter movies, I'm going to have a riot on my hands! How fun is that.

    Talk to you guys soon.

Good morning, West Coasters! Time to wake up...

According to the Charlotte Observer, our local newspaper, the Half Blood Prince will be nearly 200 pages shorter than Order of the Phoenix. It's the first time yet that Rowling has written less than she did the book before. It also says that if you've read all five HP books, you've logged 2,689 pages total!

9 more days til that milk expires...

I preordered the book back in January at Amazon and was informed about a month ago that they have upgraded the shipping for all preorders so that we will actually get the book on the 16th. Now the fight ensues among me, my husband and our 15 year old son over who gets to read it first. Since my son is going on a raft trip on the 24th and he reads pretty fast, I think he is going to win out and get it first. After that, it's anybody's guess!!

We are all anxiously awaiting the release of the new movie, too.
