Hey, I have no idea if there are any other Halloween enthusiasts on here but personally it is my favorite holiday. I managed to check out a really cool Haunted house in Kansas City last year called The Beast, I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. I also had a fairly elaborate graveyard scene set up in my garage last year, that was a lot of fun.. I am moving to Philadelphia at the end of the month and would love to check out some of the haunted attractions near Philly this year, if anyone knows of any good ones let me know. I have heard the event at Eastern State Penitentiary is pretty creepy.

Anyone know of any in the area?

Halloween is also my favorite holiday. I have a graveyard in my yard and lots of decorations. I always dress up in costumes too. Unfortunatley I went all out for Halloween last year and only three kids showed up. Very disapointing. One reason why I love Halloween:it is a holiday where you are not pressured into spending time with lame family members. I also love the candy!!!!

I too LOVE halloween. My children and I love traveling to find the most scariest haunted house yet. found another sight that could lead you to some scary places in PA.

Halloween is my favorite holiday too. Mostly because it also happens to be my birthday. Last year, I only got one kid, but didn't have any candy, because it was at like 4 in the afternoon. I went and got 5 lbs of candy, and no one showed up. It may have had something to do with the day that Halloween was and the fact that there are not many kids around.

I used to love Halloween...then we moved into this neighborhood - where the rurals and appartment-dwellers like to bring their kids by the van load! We buy enough candy for 250+ trick-or-treaters, try to make sure all the neighborhood kids are done early and then when the supply runs out we have to turn off the lights and hide! This year I'm going to disguise myself as Rusful and try to scare some of them away.

glad to see there are some other halloween enthusiasts out there. My girlfriend's b-day is halloween as well. thanks for the links I will check them out. I think I have seen one of those links before. It's tough to tell from a website how good a haunt is, as every one says they are the biggest and scariest.

I found this one online yesterday. It sounds pretty cool to me. Could we get a tweleve team together? check it out...

    Haunted Hills Estate

Embark on a journey through the dark woods with only a torch and your wits to save your life as you encounter creatures and challenges beyond your imagination...

Every night a howling wind whips through the hollow, and the air grows creepily colder... faint whispers rise from the ground from mouths unseen, calling for people to scare, begging to be heard by fearful ears. The moon ascends each night illuminating the shadows of the hidden realms of the Estate. A gust of wind blows open the trail's gate and the creatures are poised to see who enters..

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here...

Escaping the grounds of the Estate is not as easy as it was to enter. You and your group will face 10 distinct creepy challenges that will decide your fate and which of you will make it back out.

They also have nightly prizes for the teams with the fastest times, most puzzles solved, etc. I thought it sounded fun.

My sister's b-day is also Halloween, so it has been a favorite holiday since I was little. Lately I've been into serious face painting instead of wearing a mask. I had the neatest butterfly on my face 2 years ago! I've always loved the movie and book interview with the vampire and I bought the same kind of contacts that Louis wears in them and wore them last Halloween-totally freaky!

    kstreasurehunter,
I am not sure about 'haunted house' type attractions, but my best friend and I go ghost hunting in our spare time and Gettysburg, PA is one of the best places to go for that sort of thing. They usually have some special events during that time of year due to the large number of 'hauntings' in the town. There are also 'ghost tours' most of the year with story tellers who walk you through the town and tell many of the ghost stories about the area. Gettysburg is a wonderful destination if you are looking for something a little different in your Halloween fun this year!
