Default Color Scheme - Log In Problems - New Posts

Hi! I love this board and joined it many months ago...however, I have a real problem with the new color scheme. Due to eye problems I have, I find the new colors very harsh and difficult to read. Is there some way that I can change the template for myself back to the old way, or am I stuck viewing it with the black/blue/grey scheme?

Thanks for any help...and keep up the great work. Can't wait for the new MS treasure hunt to start next year!

Default A little help from your friends....

    Hi there!

You can change the style "back" in your profile. There are many choices now, including the once I used called SubBlack.

Click on the Profile link to open your profile. You need to scroll down just a bit to see it, but it's a drop drown box. The changes are immediate, so you can try them all out pretty quickly.

    Hope this helps!

The two most "white" schemes are Classic and subSilver. I think subSilver is a little boring, so Classic might be a nice change for you.

As for the other minor growing pains:
    - forum logs you out pretty quickly
    - new posts don't change color and have flashy new icon
    - search for posts within last day returns nothing

    Try this first:
    * Ctrl + [Refresh Button on Your Browser]
This will force your browser to get a "new" copy of the page.
    * In Mozilla: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cache > Clear

While you're there, you might want to clear your cookies too. The cookies for tweleve are what store your log in (if you click remember me) and your custom spell check words, and such. If you only want to clear cookies that are involved with this site:

    Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies> View Cookies
att.tweleve.org and www.tweleve.org are the two groups of cookies, so you can scroll down to them and highlight and delete them.

I don't recommend deleting all you cookies unless you want to enter your log in / passwords into all the other sites you visit. If you remember all that stuff, go ahead and clear away.

*In Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > (General Tab) > Temporary Internet Files > Delete Files

On this menu, you can also Delete Cookies. If you want to selectively delete cookies, click on the "Settings" button... then View Files.
In this window, click on the Search button at the top. Enter "tweleve" in the [All or part of the file name:] box, and make sure [Look In:] says "Temporary Internet Files"
Then highlight and delete all the files that show up!

    * I've got to get the server time set correctly, I think that might have something to do with the log outs and the new posts. We'll see.

I have the same problem, the only solution I have found so far is to log in to the PM's instead of the forum and that way it remembers me.
So what I do is open the forum and click where it says "log in to check your private messages" if you select there that it remembers you, it works.

    Gabi,
That's a neat little shortcut (thanks!), and it does work, but it still doesn't show new folders from the last time I closed the board (and it logged me out automatically).

I think you need to flush!

I think you are experiencing problems from www.tweleve.org changing location from the old board to the new board. Windows is stupid and tries to cache information on webpages that you can't flush except manually. This is 100% safe:

Here's what to do in Windows:

Start > Run > type cmd > hit Ok

This opens a new winow. Then type:

    ipconfig /flushdns

You should NOT be using any other address than http://www.tweleve.org/forum/

Oh, and after you flush, clear your cookies and cache again. I've reset the cookie details on the forum, so it should be very straight forward now.
