Default how did you come to realize the treasure hunting bug got you

its sun AM and of all the news stories I saw - this was the first I had to check

    http://apnews.excite.com/article/200...D8FMRVC06.html

a bit of a disappointment - but also one of the lightning moments where I realized I do have the 'treasure hunting bug'

I knew it rather subliminally before - but this seemed to be a crystalizing moment

do you have a similar moment? I'd like to know what it was
I also love stories! and have read so many great ones hereat tweleve

I've shared this before, but here goes. I knew I had it bad when I was sitting in a statistics class last spring and watching the prof draw a scatter plot. I cocked my head to the side and thought "If I kind of squint, it could be a map." Then I realized there would be nothing but headaches hidden in that map.

On a similar vein, I've been focusing on local archetecture for a hunch I have about The Secret. Last weekend I caught myself analyzing buildings in The Return of the King, comparing them with my mental image from The Secret. Not gonna find anything that way either...

yes - exactly what I was thinking about - don't think I ever read your story before - it sure does seem that the 'bug' strikes in peculiar ways and absolutely premeates life at times! wouldn't have it any other way -
maybe its because twelevers have genetically somehow gooten a larger than normal dose of the 'curiousity' gene?
sure am glad to know I am not the only one this happens to!

    Default real bad!

I knew I had it bad way back when the book first came out (ATT).
We all were looking at pictures through magnifying glasses....
Well I was sitting at the doctors office and started noticing pictures in the carpet pattern. LOL
I told myself then and there, this is getting crazy!
You know you have it bad when you start seeing things that you know can not possibley be there.
That was when I realized I needed to take a step back and not get that involved with it.
These hunts are suppose to be a hobby or a way to entertain yourself with the hopes that you might get lucky and figure something out.
    Keeping it real,

In September my daughter brought home some flowers someone at school gave her for her birthday. As I was gazing at them with a blank stare on my face my husband said, "What are you doing?" I replied, "Looking to see if the way the petals come off the center will give me some help with clue #3." The whole family started laughing and one one of my kids said, "Ya, she's gone bye bye!" They all thought I was whacked before that but that's when they said I officially went over the edge!!

Well, apparently I've been a rock-hound since I was just a wee lass. I used to drag in rocks from our gravel drive-way. ^^;; I found better things when we moved to a piece of property that used to be drilled for oil. There were tons of mysterious balls of what looked like lead, and petrified wood in abundance. Even found a piece of petrified wood 12"x6"x4" big. It was almost too heavy for me to carry uphill, at the time, but I managed. ^^ Anyway, I found that the same crazy thrill I get when hunting rocks transfers over to hunting treasure when I got just a little too excited watching a series of shows on treasure seekers on the Travel Channel. There was this one guy in Pennsylvania they showed who had been digging around the same area for like 10 years and was determined that he was going to find it 'any day now.' They were making him out to be a bit of a loon, but after watching his story I was ready to go to PA and search with him! ....and yeah, it was pretty recent, but I'm just a youngster, cut me some slack!

Let me see...could have been when I JUST KNEW where an ATT token was and flew to Atlanta for a day, didn't eat anything while at the park, went back to the airport, was asked very "politely" if I wanted the paramedics to see me, I insisted that "no I was just fine", they insisted that "no I needed to see the paramedics"...it wasn't paramedics they wanted me to see, it was the police...when the paramedics finally got there, they took my blood sugar and it was only 32, so I wasn't arrested for being on an illegal substance, but was given a sugar substance. Instead I missed my flight that I was going to look for the other ATT token and ended up coming back home....Yeah, I'd say that's when I know the treasure hunting bug had me.

    Default Hooked?

Hooked? Who's hooked? Ten reasons you know you're hooked:

    1. You check Tweleve.org and ATT everyday before you check your e-mail or talk to your mom.

    2. You procastinate emptying the cat litter box and finally do so and have to drag it up the basement stairs in one of those Hefty-leaf size bags because you've been too busy.

    3. You have an even larger bag of ATT garbage.

    4. You write to all the State Parks where the tokens were found just to have them mail you brochures for a scrapbook.

    5. Your fellow employees walk into your office and say, "You haven't solved that thing yet?" (They have no idea.) Tweleve would be too difficult to explain and you fear they would think you've lost it.

    6. You spend countless hours making fake jewels from scrap pieces of jewlery and send the photographs to Bass021 so he can have "modified" pictures of the jewels on his "solution" website.

    7. You're driving your car and as you pass trees you think to yourself, "Now, THAT would have been a good knothole." ???

    8. You find yourself writing a $212.00 check at the department store and you notice that you spelled it "tweleve".

    9. You ahve a map sized version of Clue 4 blown up on your basement wall.

And the number 10 reason you know you're hooked is:

    10. You have Clue 3 as your screensaver.!

    Yea, I'm hooked.
    Dreams really do come true!
