Default Thank You to my anonymous donor!

I would like to publicly thank whomever donated their money in my name to be a Tweleve Benefactor. I have had an extremely rough couple of weeks and this was just so... nice. I don't even have words to describe how I feel. I haven't been here that long and I've never met anyone here in the flesh. To think that someone would just give up a piece of their hard earned money for a complete stranger just floors me. I can understand in a natural disaster, or a fire, death, ect., but...this really means more to me than you know. There are SOOO many good people here at Tweleve!!

    THANK YOU!!!

    Pay it forward, Dreamer...

(Somehow, sometime, like in the movie)

When my husband finds a new job and we're back on our feet again I definitely will. I love to help people in need and right now it's very hard being on the receiving end and not being able to help others the way I used to help them.
I wrote and gave this to a friend 3 years ago. She was having a really hard time accepting help, even though she was a stay at home mom with no income. I put it in one of the bags of groceries I delivered. (Her husband had told her on Christmas Eve that he had a girlfriend and that they were expecting a child on Jan. 8th!! Needless to say, she and their 2 daughters were a wreck and their life quickly spiraled out of control. She has since remarried and has a new son! )

    Charity

    Complete strangers bringing dinners
    Help comes without asking
Angels are looking out for you
Reminders that you are not alone
    Immediate friendships bloom
The pain disappears, if just for a moment
You realize God is answering your heartfelt prayers

Charity is often thought of in a "negative" way,
but it was never meant to be.
Charity is just another word for God's love...
So do not cast your eyes down in shame
while accepting gifts of love from strangers and friends
God sends these charitable acts to you
to help to ease your pain

The movie "Pay It Forward" is not about paying with money, it's about doing for others (we've been talking about it in another thread: http://www.tweleve.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4822 ) rather than "paying back" a favor.

I've been having a tough time in real life too - I've had to accept tons of help in many different areas the past 6 months, and I'm normally very independent, so it has been hard. Your Charity prose touched me. Thanks, I really needed that...

See? You already started paying it forward.

Your welcome, sue. I've definitely been heeding my own advice, lately! I understand what your saying about paying it forward not being monetary. There have been numerous times I've helped someone without spending a dime. Cleaning, doing yard work, painting, reading to or just talking to the elderly that need some human contact, but it just seems that most times the "good" that needs to be done has a price tag. I can't wait to be in both positions to help again. I pray that things get easier and better for your family.

Making mental note: Rent Pay it Forward this weekend. It sounds like a movie I would really like!

    Default Pay it forward

Shirleylock. Please do. Its wonderful! Let us know what you think.

Dreamer, an old friend once told me the most valuable gift you can ever give anyone is your TIME. He jokingly gave me his watch for about 3 days. I know it feels better to do the money, but time..., oh my! If we only knew its real value.

I can give money any old time, but my time? It is valuable to me. Time I have to pull out of my life and the air and give it to those who I choose to share it with. Just like at this moment (in time) I have stopped to post a message to you. There are just so many ways to give of ourselves. The money is easy to those who have it to spare. There is no real sacrifice unless it hurts a little. The other sacrifices you mentioned above are most valuable and you've given well. Keep sharing yourself. What riches!
