The basket filled with goodies is left out in the open for our son....afterwards, its off to hunt for eggs.

.........time to add a DAR ring to my collection.........

at our house just the eggs are hidden

my favorite Easter story is one year many years ago when my older son - (already knew we were the toothfairy - etc. ) was still awake after the llittle ones were asleep(night before easter morning) - saw me getting ready to start the hiding - he asked could he please do the hiding of the eggs this year. I thought a bit and said - "sure" well - much to my surprise he didn't grab the eggs from the table where I had set them but turned around and disappearred into his room - emerging about 20 minutes later with a funny wire and paper concoction on his head - bunny ears he had fashioned - and an odd something stuck on his behind and whiskers taped to his upper lip - he hopped to the table and picked up the basket and hopped all around the house - the perfect Easter Bunny hiding the eggs
He was 10 then and would probably be quite embarassed I should still even remember this (he is 33 years old now!) but it remains and always will - a stellar Easter memory for me

    Default Nope

Why hide them?? It's sooo much fun designing booby traps to frustrate them instead. HAHAHA

Just kidding, my kid would scream, then my wife would scream, then I would have a bad rest of the day. But, it is fun to imagine

My husband and I both grew up having to find them so naturally our kids do. We were only going to be gone a couple of days so I didn't put the eggs out, just the baskets. When we got home last night one of the baskets had a lovely trail of a couple of thousand ants leading from the winow, up, over and down the couch, across the floor right into it!! We spent the first twenty minutes we were home cleaning up the mess!! Next time I won't be so stupid as to hide a basket full of candy on the floor under a table!! The other kids were so sweet. Without even having us ask they got a large ziploc bag and started sharing their candy with their brother...it was so cute!!
