Default Headed out on a 6 month hiatus!

Well everyone, next Saturday is my last day to be able to check in on any hunts and work on them for 6 months or so. I am headed up to Maine to start my journey down to Georgia via the Appalachian Trail. I expect to hike the full trail (2,270 or so miles) sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Instead of sending a ton of PMs to all of those who have indulged me on this site (hey Mee-mers! ) I figured I would go ahead and make a broad announcement for all of you. Thanks for all the fun and brain-cramps! Wouldn't have traded it for the world.

Ps. Oh, and Jason from Scroll Quest, you still gonna meet me in Harper's Ferry, WVA so I can get a copy of the Idol of Xi? PM me your contact bud!

Sounds exciting!! Is this something you've always wanted to do or is there a reason behind it? Keep a good journal. I'm sure you could write a book about the experience. Good luck!!

    Dreamer,

I attempted this back in 2004 and injured myself 150 miles into my hike. This time I learned quite a few things to do better and will make it completely through. I will be keeping a journal of my travel as well as the online tracking via my family.

    Holli,

Awesome picture of the AT. Alas it doesn't seem like the Trail comes anywhere near your portion of the state! I will be up that way on my way to Maine, b/c me and my 2 buds are gonna go to Niagra Falls. Too bad we'll be there on June 4/5th. Well, gotta run!
