Default Serving Jello, pudding and mashed potatoes for Easter Dinner

Don't want to be a downer here on anyone's Easter holiday.

My 15 year old son took an unfortunate spill on his bike last night. He has a BMX bike and goes the extreme thing at indoor skate parks.

Well we spent all night last night in the emergency room down the street from the park. How convenient having an emergency room down the street.

Well he had a catscan and everything is ok - except it took them 3 hours to read the results - that's a whole other story!

Bottom line is that his face hit the concrete after his front wheel slid out from under him in kinda a freekish way. He was wearing a helmet and pads (thank you lord for my mommy harping)! And he was just clearing the top of a spine (ramp).

However! His front top teeth bore thru both top and bottom lips then proceeded on their travels to bend up and back to the roof of his mouth.

They are attached and came back down - but I can see some of the roots and am feverishly googling everything I can about what to watch out for when I go to our dentist (a friend who kept in contact with me thru the ordeal) tomorrow morning. Who will look at the situation do his own xrays and suggest who the best oral surgeon would be for this situation.

Any experience out there about oral surgeon suggestions (questions, concerns) or surgeries would be greatly appreciated. This is entirely new to me and have never had any experience with an oral surgeon within my family.

I am going tomorrow with a list that looks like a tome so far and don't mind making additions of things I haven't thought of.

    Thanks!

Yes that is him in the air this summer - and that right shoe is still at the skate park!

THIS IS THE EASTER FROM HELL!!!!!

Hubby just called - had taken daughter back to college today since son is sleeping on the sofa! Hey why not - somebody should have some fun today - right!!!

Well just found out that while they were unloading the copious amounts of groceries she wanted to take back to her dorm - a policeman was chasing a bad guy thru the parking lot! Hubby quickly closed and locked the car and hubby and daughter ran around the corner from the bad guy. Policeman shot said bad guy and he fell on hubby's trunk.

Now parking lot - car - dorm entry way is now yellow tapped and everything is impounded!

well - I have had a son dislodge two front teeth - climbing out of a car seat - car not moving though - many years ago - the teeth were bent straight outwards! they did straighten out and tighten up and dentists can do amazingthings so I am pretty sure all will be well there -
ont he plus side yous daughter and husband aren't hurt! and sounds like they could have been (are you considering another school now?!?!?)
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!
keep us posted! know it all seems awful now - but am sure things could have been worse!
every morning I remind myself -
yep- woke up on the right side of the grass today!

Oh my... I'm glad your son is okay and hope that all goes well when the dentist checks him out tomorrow.

Then your hubby and daughter - omg... what a day! Trying to find the bright side: I guess this will make for a great Easter story for years to come!
Whatever I feel like I wanna do. Gosh!

sounds like an ideal time to curl up under the covers with a good book!!!

hoping these things aren't coming in three's but on the plus side, you should be just about done.

good luck with the rest of your day.

    j,

I don't have any advice for you (on oral surgeons, etc.), but I hope your son recovers, and it's good to know your husband and daugter are safe. There are days like this one, but it isn't fair.

    Take Care,

    - Mark

Thanks for all the well wishes peeps!

I just keep shrugging my shoulders and say at least this too shall pass.

I do think that someone of a higher power is saying:

hey - those guys can take it - besides I like the smart arse - keep giving it to her!
