    Sorry for implying to make a thread for the disobey site. I know you have it set up great and appreciate you sharing your information. i guess what I meant was that if there was a thread on here for any of those wikis, people could openly comment about what is on or not on them to perpetuate other ideas. Thus, the owner/author of those site such as yours, can add/subtract content as they see fitting into their own thoughts and ideas. I really appreciate you sharing so much.

    With this site there will always be areas of selfishness most described often here as 'lurking" or holding out or whatever. But, there are also those great times when folks are really working dynamically with sparks flying. Something someone says on here can create a whole new way of thinking. True magic sometimes. I, like others on here, cherish knowing that there is this special community of thinkers and do'ers where you can dabble in the possibilities.

    Now, where are my notes? It's time to do some treasure hunting. Anyone think the orientation of the four corners of each floor has anything to do with actual direction in relation to where a number might be buried?

    Also, I think there are more numbers than just the number "1" spelled out (One) in wire as you step through time on the Ninth Floor. In addition, the book says 2308, then says September 18. Think, 2308..pretty random and obscure number huh? Why say it First? 2308 9 (or 09) 18; 2308918; 23080918. Certainly cant be LATITUDE or we'd be in Havana Cuba or the Baha or the Bahamas. Any thoughts on this? And, I ran the dates against the wiki for Quantum Leap. Though I think that that would have been a brilliant way to hint at a location (there are actual Leap Dates dand specific locations for each episode) I could not get anything to directly match up. Anyone else take that approach? Maybe someone can look at this idea as well.

    On On
    i realized they use some wording where a simpler word, or a word they with odd lettering could be placed. i was thinking of going through and using the date to check letters to see if it spells anything. that's my guess.

    Not to beat a dead horse, but here's a story:

    In 1928 Paul Dirac was puzzled over why there appeared to be equal validity to Einstein's equations for energy, positive vs negative. Then, going thru the original equations, he saw that it wasn't E=mC^2, it was E^2=m^2C^4. Einstein had simplified it by taking the square root of both sides. So, negative energy was equally valid. In 1932 the anti-electron was discovered (the positron). The square root of 9 is 3, or -3.

    Clue from McSweeneys Email
    Just received an email from McSweeney's which includes

    (And we'll give you one more enticement, a clue exclusive to this email, for your use alone—are you ready? Here it goes:
    Sometimes the answer is incorrect; sometimes incorrect is the answer.
    Now go! Hunt! Dig!
    -----------------

    So the answer to y isn't only 136.22. Y was a square, so it is also -136.22, and that's a longitude in the US.

    Usually "X" is reserved for the unknown. In this case, "y" was used specifically to indicate the vertical axis, the longitude.

    Then, pick a good round number for the latitude, let's say 58, because the 58th drawer with the green, emerald-looking stuff in it is open in the wall.

    Google Maps Latitude, Longitude Popup

    The circled "MI" on the periodic table then would indicate Muir's Inlet, which you can see if you zoom in on the above link.

    Actually, the latitude needs to be 58-ish or it won't be in the U.S. (on land, anyway).

    That's hare-brained theory number one for me.

    Greetings from the Stratosphere Sky Jump on a clear, beautiful afternoon in Las Vegas, NV!

    I brought three of my friends here because they scored less than 80 on their IQ test and have opted to jump off this 85 story building this afternoon with this 'attraction' called the 'Sky Jump' (as if there's anything the least bit 'attractive' about said activity).

    I, on the other hand, found an internet terminal and sat down waiting on them to finish their 'fun'. LOL!

    I'm really enthusiastic about finding what appears to be two good treasure hunts coming out so close together. After reading the old-timers posts around here, I picked up a copy of this book on my drive to the airport on Thursday.

    My eyes are getting worse--I'm waiting on bifocals--and some of this print is really hard to see, but I spotted some things I wanted to pass along.

    1. That equation folks are talking about--the one that you solve for 'Y': I've got to study these pages of posts in more detail but I don't recall seeing this.

    Do you know why you need to solve for 'Y'?

    Cause it ain't a 'Y'.

    It's a 'WHY'.

    In other words, it's a HWY.

    You're finding highway numbers, or so I'm guessing.

    2. One of my travelling companions spotted some roman numerals that were black and white on the wall of one of the floors--I don't recall which floor. The left wall and the right wall were mirror images:

    XIV and VIX

    It's a '14' and a reverse '14'

    1 - 4 - 4 - 1

    It's part of an equation: ADD 1--might even be ADD A. Haven't looked into any of this as yet.

    3. If there's an equation on the walls, I think the bedroom of the guy on the 13th floor had two clocks showing identical times on the walls. That appears like a rebus puzzle to me:

    TWO TIMES

    Or, in the venacular of a math equation: X 2.

    4. I don't know what's going on with the 'Mi' business, but it started on the 13th floor. The rope from the alchemist's floor is attached to a flower planter on the 13th floor. There are two sets of flowers shown on the wall of the 13th floor. The flower planter on the left had 13 flowers and the planter on the right had 9 flowers. I had already spotted this 'M' and 'I' business before I got to the alchemist's floor.

    'MI' certainly could be the state abbreviation, but it also put me in mind of the reverse Roman numeral sequence from 'M' to 'I': M D C L X V I.

    I bring that up because the differently colored marshmallows in the cereal bowl at the first of the book made me think of Roman numerals. Seven colors of the rainbow would be equivalent to the seven Roman numerals.

    I haven't even read the entire book as yet, so some of this may be explained. I'm going to have to go back and re-read 'The Eleventh Hour' that the author cited as being a big influence on him. Some of those clues in the illustrations definitely put me in mind of that former book that I really enjoyed back in the day.

    Waiting on my insane friends here at the Stratosphere,

    Doc

    Did anybody make it to the book event in LA yesterday?
    Was any useful (or even confusing) information shared?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    PS - Anybody else think the snake on 10 looks like a treble clef rather than an 8?

    Doc, I think the writing on the wall is XLV. Not XIV. On the reverse wall the L is backwards. I'm wondering, since 45 isn't a very precise latitude, that some of these aren't just used to narrow things down to a city and other clues are needed to for more precision.

    A thought just occurred to me, and I'm just thinking outloud here. Highways go two ways, the numbers go two ways, a reference to route 45 in Ohio (based on the 3 pics in the bathroom)? Route 45 crosses Route 6 (the floor). There's also a Dodgeville Road near there (name of the detective). Had a Belgian antique unicycle stolen, was found with lavander bubble boots, mentioned elbows again, and online clue says something was hiding inside the toilet... I think you need to search all the toilets between Route 6 and Dodgeville Road! Especially ones owned by silent old Belgiums wearing purple shoes!

    This is a list of connections between floors arranged by items stolen from and hidden into. Each floor has two different connections except floors 6 and 7, who swapped stolen items. There's still some question where the zucchini is. I'm going to assume it's on the first floor, well-hidden, or not readily identifiable since it's from the 1983 crop:

    ------Floor
    10<---12--->5 (lead bars/vitrola)

    1<----11--->8 (zucchini/lunchbox)

    4<----10--->12 (hunting rifle/lead bars)

    8<----9---->3 (Green anti-grav. galoshes/12-headed statue)

    11<---8---->9 (lunchbox/green galoshes)

    6<----7---->6 (unicycle/lavender bubble shoes)

    7<----6---->7 (lavender bubble shoes/unicycle)

    12<---5--->2 (vitrola/pink poney toothbrush)

    2<----4--->10 (metronome/hunting rifle)

    9<----3---->1 (12-headed statue/magnifying glass)

    5<----2---->4 (Pink Poney toothbrush/hunting rifle)

    3<----1--->11 (magnifying glass/zucchini)

    Next will come the donut connection, I guess.

    I don't see donuts on floors 2, 6, 10, and 12. The others:

    1) half-hidden on counter

    3) on sink

    4) on kitchen table

    5) on floor in kitchen

    7) half-hidden on bed

    on kitchen table

    9) on kitchen floor

    11) big pile

    13) on pedestal in dining room

    The big pile on floor eleven have several that are linked to each other like a chain.

    None of the donuts were partially eaten. Probably used to hammer nails with.
