    Looks like fun. I am ordering a book.
    Did not see how much the numbers are worth?

    Here is some info I have found googling around:

    The Clock Without A Face - news

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    FAQ'S
    Is there really buried treasure?
    Yes.
    What is the treasure?
    Twelve emerald-studded numbers pried from the Emerald Khroniker, a legendary clock.
    But what are they really?
    Twelve emerald-studded numbers designed and hand-crafted by Anna Sheffield. Anna is a New York-based jewelry designer, the founder of Anna Sheffield Fine Jewelry, Bing Bang and Bespoke. Her work is sold at Barney's, Urban Outfitters, and around the world.
    What do the numbers look like?
    Each one is different, and all are pretty sweet. No one will know what each number looks like until that piece is dug up.
    Where are the numbers now?
    They're buried in twelve holes across the country.
    How do I find the treasure?
    Study the clues in the book — everything you need is there. There will also be extra info on this website and at certain bookstores (full list coming soon).
    Can I have a clue?
    Check this website. Visit a bookstore. Attend an event (tour schedule coming soon). Mostly, read the book.
    If I find a number, do I get to keep it?
    Definitely.
    How will I know if someone else finds a number?
    As soon as we know, we'll announce it on the website and Gus Twintig's twitter feed.
    What if I don't want to dig? Will I still enjoy the book? Should I still care about the hunt?
    Definitely. The book is intended first as a basic whodunit, a mystery solved on the final page; the wheredtheyputit is just an extra bonus for especially energetic or greedy readers. For readers who'd like to follow along with the search, we've created a special "hunt card" (available soon) for recording and guessing the locations of each number; the first hundred correct hunt-cards we receive will win a special prize kit.
    How is this book structured?
    The book is essentially a single building, squashed flat: the cover is the roof, and then each subsequent page is a floor, starting in the penthouse and ending in the lobby.
    Who is Gus Twintig?
    Augustus Twintig III is the official confident assistant to detective Roy Dodge, and the narrator of this book. Twintig was born in 1952 in the town of Dutch Oven, Pennsylvania, where his family ran a successful funnel-cake restaurant. He is the author of Mallow Me, Mallow You: A Year in the Marsh
    (a guide to rural confectioneries), and is a member of the Guild of Podiatric Investigators.
    Who did the portraits of the residents?
    The amazing Adam Rex.
    What are some of the inspirations for this book?
    The Eleventh Hour, Graeme Base; The Westing Game, Ellen Raskin; Masquerade, Kit Williams; Life, a User's Manual, Georges Perec.
    What age readers is this book for?
    We, of course, believe it can be enjoyed by everyone, but it's probably best for readers born before 2001 but yet after 1903. Readers beyond either side of that span will still find plenty in the book to enjoy, but might miss some of the references.
    ~~~~~~~~~~

    Amazon lists it as a 'Board Book'.

    Also read that Ohio is where something may be hidden. Gee. The Ohio line is 5 mins. from me.

    Looks interesting!

    I just ordered the book through their website.
    I saw it for less on Amazon, but their delivery date was mid May.
    I figured it was better to buy from the source anyways.

    There is a good amount of info on the website already.
    I noticed the residents names are a little odd, almost "anagramy".

    I was also wondering about the value of the numbers or prize and sent them an email:
    "I am wondering about the value of the numbers?
    Is the reward for finding them, the numbers themselves?
    Or is there a cash prize associated with the numbers?"

    Can't wait for the book to arrive!
    Good luck everyone.

    This does indeed look very interesting. And I love going "diggin" around. Soon...let the game's begin. If you're not the diggin type, just keep me in mind.

    Hey Domino, What state are you in?
    I am in Massachusetts.
    It looks like one of the numbers may be in Ohio.

    Also, the guys name on the second floor is Krieger Manzarek.
    If you are a Doors fan, you will recognize the names, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek. Will have to see that the "Doors" look like on that page.

    That is cool. I am in North Carolina....but I have been known to get around, so I just hope something is either a half days drive or that I can wrap another adventure around a good on-the-ground hunt/search.

    I do look forward to checking out this book; the style and the possibilities. It will be a welcome new hunt to collaborate with folks on here and work through. (and I will get COWBOY- A Treasure Hunt out soon so i hope folks will have fun with that as well).

    I live near the Ohio border in PA. Like I have done in the past, I would gladly go get a treasure for anyone who needs help. When you do all the work but live hundreds of miles away, well, that just sucks bigtime.

    I go for the hunt, love it, but will gladly overnight or whatever the find to whomever would need me to do that for them. I've done it for twelevers before. I have no desire to snake anyone out of their find. That's not something I want on my conscience EVER. My inner sense would never allow me to conduct myself that way.

    So if anyone needs help PM me. I need to travel in and out of Ohio a lot these days. A side trip won't hurt me.

    If you need me to provide references on Tweleve. Just ask.

    The Manzarek Krieger Band: The Manzarek Krieger Band/Riders on the Storm on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads
    aka Riders on the Storm or ROTS.

    Which also reminded me of this: Susan Streeter Carpenter's Riders on the Storm.

    This author taught at Kent State in Ohio during the shooting on May 4, 1970. Coming up on the 40th anniversary of that shooting. She is now located at a different university in Ohio now.

    Just remembering stuff I have ran across. Funny how mentioning one thing triggers other stuff. eh?

    Here is the response I received form Gus Twintig about the value of the numbers:

    Questions:
    I am wondering about the value of the numbers?
    Is the reward for finding them, the numbers themselves?
    Or is there a cash prize associated with the numbers?

    Resonse:
    The details on the numbers are a bit fuzzy, of course. But definitely each one includes a real emerald, plus metals, stones, curses, etc. And each is handmade and one of a kind. Not to mention legendary. And cursed.

    Yes -- the reward for finding the number is...the number! This isn't some marketing gimmick -- this is high-stakes jewel thievery! Your assistance is vital.

    Hungrily,
    Gus
