But I bet you have had some small adventures at least. Great job hitting 4. If something doesnt happen in the next week, I will knock out some second and third tier hunches I noted by checking those places out next weekend. However, I will knock out a few this weekend on the other side of the country.

Yes, the various trips had their moments, and each time felt like I had crossed into an alternate universe.

I guess it wasn't meant to be. Oh well, back to digging in dumpsters.

    Default Memphis I-40 MM1

I just had someone check the Welcome Center at Memphis, TN.
    (Hyw I-40, MM 1) No luck....Phooey!

I was really feeling good about this one, too...
because you could see the huge Pyramid Arena
    from the Welcome Center!

(He also asked the gardener if anyone had found a piece of
metal nailed to any tree..and the answer was no.)

    Default Memphis I-69 mm3

While in the Memphis area, my searcher checked
    out I-69 mm3 this morning.

    No luck...

It is just a short stretch of I-69 which overlaps I-55...
The rest area website mentions only I-55 for this
    large Welcome Center/ Rest Area.
(It also has a "Pyramid" there!)

My Hyw clue was the "69" formed by the belt and pulleys
on the changing-machine. The mm clue was the 3 candles.
(There are other 3's but this was obvious.)

No matter...He did not find the treasure in Memphis

    Default Arkansas I-40, mm 235, mm 243

Perhaps these are clues that the #12 is buried at a rest stop near the Memphis area - either the Tennessee side or the Arkansas side.
Checked out three rest stops in the Arkansas area off I 40, MM 235 and 243 and the Memphis exit on the Arkansas side for the same Memphis connection to Egypt, but these were void of any markers. Onward!
Just trying to consolidate locations that have been searched...

It has a very nice rest double rest area (not exactly symmetrical)
near Benson at MM 324. (colored eyeballs on the table..3-2-4)

The "state clue" is not obvious...But if you live in NC and want
to take a lovely drive this weekend, you may be rewarded!

I've taken the "lovely drive" and not been rewarded.

80 may be the key...not 40, though I really want it to be....believe me.

Nothing. Phooey. They even went to mm1 just to see if the 5 was a red herring, but nothing there either.

Geez! What is it about these last few numbers? Stubborn.
Just adding these to the list of fruitless-searches.

(all of these are in Idaho)

    I-15 mm 7 northbound
    mm 101 northbound and southbound
    mm 47 northbound and southbound
    mm 25 southbound

    I-86 mm 31 westbound
    mm 19 eastbound

If I'm reading right...the only rest area that has not been checked by people is I-15 mm 167 north and southbound. I would've gone but it's a ways from that last stop on 101.
