If you have tried any of the spots discussed here, please report your results or lack of results. It may stimulate more ideas. It is also possible for someone to have searched an area and missed the marker of course, but it would at least help set priorities.
In less than twelve hours I will have embarked on a search for an emerald kroniker... Wish me luck! I will let you know how my adventure goes as soon as I am back home safe and sound. This shall be a dangerous adventure indeed...
How does a treasure hunter wish someone good luck?
They should say "break a shovel".
Totally love that! Haha.
I'll go ahead and mention that I searched the rest stop at mile marker 4 on I-275 in Michigan, which is just a short trip from a buddy/fellow treasure-hunter's place. We knew the chances of a numeral being there were slim, but we also figured there are worse things in life than admiring the shady trees of a Michigan rest-stop on a cool, beautiful morning.
Anyways, it was really a stretch, but I got Michigan from the MI on the periodic table (floor 12, of course)...and there are numerous '4's in the room (tea cups, tee-shirts and blenders)...I really have only a very tenuous explanation for 275 (which is why I knew it was a long shot). Anyways, if you were considering this as a possibility, save yourself a trip!

I searched RA at MM 5 on I-95, North Carolina... notes on why on that thread.
I just got back from searching RI I-95 Mile 6 from head to toe. Kind of heart broken, but it's okay. It was fun being excited and hawk stalked by the people who work there.
Did you ever get back to try I-95, mm 0.5 in NH? I still think that is a good possibility.
