If any of you have participated in a successful search for a number, or are familiar with the specifics of those who have, I have a question about the location of the trees. Were the trees in a picnic area or a common area where it wouldn't be unusual for people to be, or were they in isolated locations behind a parking area in places where you wouldn't expect people to normally traverse?
I'd love to see some answers to those questions, too. As it is, I've searched from fence post to highway side, with most attention on any groomed area. A lot of rest areas have paths that wander off into the woods or campgrounds.
I don't know how I missed this before! I don't know how much it helps now, but the seven was in a well-manicured, landscaped area right next to the building. It was maybe 15-20 feet from the picnic tables employees used for their breaks (which just happened to be when I was digging!)
i'm with varin, i must have missed this! but i've also been crazy busy!
my 8 was in a more common place not too far from one of the sidewalks. i'll try to post a picture of the tree and you can see in the background kind of how close it is. but it was definitely out in the open and the trees there werent exactly really close, but rather spread out a bit. hope this helps!
