1. ## The Bibonacci Code

*rofl* that one was too good to pass up on.

I don't yet know if Fibonacci has anything to do with things here...

What I do know is that floor 10 gave me a very interesting idea which led me to recollect a riddle about "what goes on all four legs in the morning, two in the afternoon, and three in the evening?", this is the Riddle of the Sphinx of Thebes which Oedipus of Greek myth encounters and overcomes. Thebes = The B's.

2. ## Khaotic Khroniker

The previous threads about identifying a pattern in the the "stolen" item locations or even a pattern in the found numbers locations were perfectly good ideas worth looking into but in the end didn't seem conclusive of anything for certain. Does that mean there's no pattern at all, no, I think we just haven't found it.

I think the reason we haven't found it is that there's at least one missing part to the "equation". It sure wouldn't be too difficult if everything was just a single or second order substitution, but what if we're looking at a pattern of 3 parts, where only 2 parts are given? Then we have an A + B + ? = Answer type of syntax.

In future posts in this thread I'd like to look at patterns that might evolve from stringing certain relationships together that leave us to wonder what the 3rd piece of information might be. For example: 12th floor's lead bars are found on 10th floor, and that floor's missing rifle is found on 4th floor; how does 12-10-4 as a "combination" work. Yes, this is reminiscent of the safe combination 1-1-8. That almost seemed a fibonacci (1-1-2-3-5-8...) The -2-3-5- portion is missing, look familiar? see the molecule on floor 12's chalkboard slightly off from the formula with the 335. Lateral thinking leads (no pun intended) me to the question "what is special about the 12th floor that connects in any way with the 10th floor and then to the 4th floor?".

I might seem way way out there like some version of 2001 a space oddyssy (Odyssius?) but when I look at floor 10 more closely and see that Sphinxian (sPHInx) and couple that with the interesting Golden Ratio results from playing with the numbers on the 9th floor it's enough to melt my brain.

3. I'm just about out of gas today after having posted waay too much in the forums.

I've been trying to convince myself otherwise, but there seems to be an inside joke about Khronic as a euphemism for Marijuana. The word pot or top is ever common, and so this mini-theory doesn't need to hold any weight except for all of the references to treats and the need to take vitamin C supplements. I'm not too interested in furthering this research idea, but if anyone else does, please post your findings.

4. I have a question: What does the movie title Being There(1979) have to do with this book?

Also, don't forget about the the film Grey Gardens.

A recent film called HOWL, not having much of anything to do with the book is a must see...just sayin.

I'm detecting a huge British overlap with the subtext. Anyone else see any references?

I think this sums up nicely what I recently posted about the sphinx riddle on the 10th floor.

6. "the orb" I think applies to an award of distinction given to a film actor, the golden globe

I nominate Peter Sellers.

7. I seem to be on a movie watching spree. Netflix has an instant play title called The King of California starring Michael Douglas which is totally sweet. It's a father-daughter movie about a father in a questionable state of mental health who believes there is a buried treasure somewhere in the suburbs. Best Costco ad ever.

8. The Kappa curve as defined by polar equation r=a*cot(theta) reminded me of the anti-government expression coup d'état where A-COH-THAY-TA sounds like A-COO-DAY-TA...but wait, Wolfgang Kapp attempted an unsuccesful coup d'état (Kapp Putsch) in 1920. I read a circular connection into this where Kappa and Kapp are eerily coincidental.

Back to the polar equation, 9th floor has radar screens which equates to polar coordinates. 9th floor also has Tang, which I hold as being a reference to Tangents. Tangents were first applied to the Kappa curve by Isaac Barrow *cough (sounds like Jack Sparrow)* lol.

That is all.

9. Wait there's more.

I'm currently under the impression that there's a three floor combination significant in the search for the 12. It starts with 4th floor, on to 5th and then by 2nd: 4-5-2. It ain't 4-2-3 like the riddle of the Sphinx but perhaps it means something. I'm not sure, probably nothing, but if the intention is to loop back to 2nd floor for some special significance then I'd guess it's either about that fish jumping out of the tank, or that funky agricultural radiation symbol on the machine, or perhaps the themes of Gates and The Doors.

10. ## "Out Hiking"

[posts a sign on front door]

I've been preparing a long list of etymological items pertaining to the names of the residents and a few other items pertaining to paleontological events, BUT I feel it is time for me to hang up my creative exploits and outlandish interludes. The lack of critical dialogue has really put a damper on this hunt. I am appreciative of everyone's comments, even the blunt ones. We can always use a wingman or a mayor, a satifying snickers or the quintessential cosmicjay, and of course we would be lost without the artsy expertise of an animal painter. Together these and others have formed a badass troupe, but divided we are less interesting than a mime fighting his way out of an airtight invisible paper bag.

I won't be contributing much at all after this post. In the meantime I plan on catching up on sleep and practicing yoga -first goal is touching my toes...not going so well, but I'm no quitter. So I'll be back, after awhile, probably when the 12 has been restored to life, and I look forward to catching up with everyone as we tidy up any loose ends and discuss how our half-baked theories may have had more to them than we knew at the time.

Peace on trovers,
Eric
