Each of the Residents have fun names, but i believe they are two-part. Munari Bakula for instance seems a concatenation of italian autor Bruno Munari and Star Trek Enterprise actor Scott Bakula. Looking at the list of names and their possibilities, you have a fun challenge to sort out their marriages.

Roy Dodge is no different. I strongly believe we must find the right Dodge reference and associate a color, Red Orange Yellow scheme idea.

We (okay, just a few of us) know that the book has a way of fitting any context possible, making it impossible to avoid any fringe thinking....nomatter how you look at it, we have to LEAP to a conclusion, i.e. what does Marshmallow mean?, what do saltines mean?, what does "bigger than a red erring?" mean...we have been forced to stumble through a maze of hopes and doubts, moreover it's caused us to find little agreement with one another, thus working together has become the real impossible task.

I don't currently have anyone exchanging ideas with me on a regular basis. There are a couple pleasant folks who do PM back on occasion, but the reality is that we are all limited by our own obstructions and resources. Im not complaining, I'm making it a point to understand the simple nature of common ground and how each junior deducer has their own ideas, their own hopes and doubts...and thats just the way the history of this hunt will continue to be written.

Now, on to the more important task, deducing....Travis Pupkin, if my theory on two-part names holds any water, I've come to the conclusion that TP is "toilet paper?"...no, Robert De Niro. Here's my breakdown: De Niro played a crazed and murderous baseball fan in the movie The Fan, his character name was Rupert Pupkin. This fringe theory leads me to ask if De Niro played any characters named Travis, yes, in Taxi Driver, Travis Bickles, rhymes with pickles...has anyone seen the Portlandia sketch "you can pickle that"? Lol.

So, my question now is, where does thinking of the first floor resident as Robert De Niro take us? Is the actor just a slate upon which we look upon to see a perspective on mental illness?

I read today that Oliver Stone feels he was the model for the De Niro character in Taxi Driver. I'm interested in anything related to "Stone" since that was the name of the rest area where Munari buried the No.12.

There's a recent film out called Stone, I think it has De Niro and Ed Norton in it...now I wonder if "Burnt Norton" has new meaning

Something else, perhaps too random, the mention of there being a fork in the road (I think Gus said it) is reminiscent of a Yogi Berra quote. For a Baseball context I think that might be important.

More ceaseless random ideas, I find it interesting to compare Washington Irving's Rip Van Winkle to TCWAF. A portrait of George Washington on the wall... Sleep (with the aid of spirits -drinking) as device for time travel...

Scott Teplin's DL reveals his birthday is Halloween. Washington Irving also wrote the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which is the quintessential Halloween story.

This will be solved soon if not already, perhaps by myself, or someone else, and it will be done by having paid close attention to the completely obvious. I've recognized that time and time again I've pieced together theories like a chid with an unlimited supply of legos. I've been totally deluded by my own fantasies or those coincidences that pull me upward step by step like a salmon on a ladder towards some pool of anxiousness.

The book is a time stopped snapshot of a historical record of events. The residents partied, ate pizza, donuts, kicked over soda, played like imps in a dark and dirty Dr. Seuss tale, and most off all they conspired and stole the Kroniker's jewels. Everything left as it is in their apartments tells a story about their interests and past activities. We can use all of it to supply an range of topics that were surely deduced by Dodge in an instant. If he played with those ideas in the creation of his final plan, then I think we have a hope of divining his "home".

This book has shook our brains for two years. I'm not sure how to feel after stumbling through so many crappy theories. I think it must be necessary to use a magnifying glass. When this is over we'll be looking at our books with the same sick feeling at the end of The Usual Suspects.

Big question: Is there a hint of something to do with the horror genre? Rosemary's Baby is in that genre but that wasn't my first indication. I was citing Gus' mentions of Zombies and Rob Zombie/Prom Zombies in twitter as well as Scott Teplin's birthday of 10-31 as Halloween might suggest the Michael Meyers character. I have lately been considering Professional Wrestling connections and noticed actor/wrestler Tyler Mane (Nitro) played Michael Meyers in the Rob Zombie remake H20:20 years later.

If there is a mapping relating a floor to a specific area then it must be 4th floor to Hope in Rhode Island. I think the machine on 12th floor matches the Hamilton building in New Jersey (i95 mile 111). I also think the object placemnts on 13th floor match a specific layout that doesnt include walls...chair, keystone, urn...

I'm sitting on a solution that looks pretty good from every angle. I'm grounded for the next few weeks with five birthday parties...i think its a conspiracy to fatten me up! There's lots that I think will keep people talking for a long time to come.

I'm not saying I know the exact spot, but I have a pretty good idea where to start. I want to go check out one more site before I share what I've found, then I expect a few excited folks to participate in the final stages of this Tholian Web.
