    Default Clues?

I'd have to say right off the bat...there are clues. Look at #46 page 70. I wouldnt have thought of an overlay for a while if I hadn't seen this. Even though there haven't been branches overlayed, there have been succesful ones (pg.77 border). Also #87 page 88. Had me looking for missing letters. Found no Q of course in 'The Dream' . Thought it was important. Fell speechless when I read someone had found no Q in the entire book. Clues in here for sure! :P

    Default at least figure out

From the section entitled "How to use this book" one passage really stands out for me:

"While the Cipher section may be a little too complex for most people, you should at least figure out that the map to a treasure may be written in a language that only the person who hides the treasure can understand -- and you may have to do a little work to decipher the clues."

This seems a clear indication that there are ciphers or codes to be solved in A Treasure's Trove, and that we can expect at least some of them to be entirely new and of Stadther's invention.

how about binary? it makes sense, seeing as how he was an engineer and not many people know the code. "in a language only the person who hides the treasure can understand"

At the book signing in White Plains, in response to a specific question about binary knowledge being needed to solve the puzzle, MS said that "no special knowledge" is needed. Although he's said this many times and in many contexts before, the tone of his voice made it sound pretty definitive, for what it's worth.

    Default marbles

The marbles on page 10 of the book had me thinking so I did a search. I found a pretty interesting site.

And, with the Tweleve Interview with MS, he did mention he liked to play marbles as a child!

Is there a particular order, or formation used when playing the game?

(If I ever find mine, I plan to learn how to play <<<<gggggggg>>>>>>)

Has anyone made a sensible alphabet cipher out of the Cryptoquotes in the CB? Odd, to me that sometimes the T is still a T. Not sure if there are any others. Another oddity to me is that EKE equals ANA.

Just me... thinking.... AGAIN..... watch out!!
