    From the Book:
    BACK STORY

Over the years I have often told my friends my personal going out on the town credo which is, ďAlways check out the floor!Ē The ground has many times given up bounty from finding coins and dollar bills, to even finding Franklins. Most money dropped has been the error of not having a wallet or, in some cases, when cash was hastily or drunkenly stuffed into a personís pocket or purse. Many times I have seen someone drop cash and then swooped in quickly to give it back to them. But, this is not about those times. This is about when I have found bills simply there, somewhere, anywhere. Unclaimed cash, as I call it. I once found a faded $20 in a pile of leaves - in my own back yard - yes, seriously.

The hunt part of this book is an attempt to set my karma at ease and in some way, give the money back. Many moons ago, I know that I surpassed the $1000 mark of found-cash from all the money discovered here and there over the years. I have now taken that $1000 cash and have cleverly hid it somewhere in the USA- the lower 48. This is my crack at using the writing and ciphering techniques I have learned to hide the cash for someone to find. Throw in using my general knowledge of the world and you get what is written on the pages in COWBOY. I know it is not much, but it is something. By doing this in some way allows me to give back to the universe that which has found me, in times, in need (I'll try for a bigger treasure on my next hunt).

This book is packed full of obvious puzzles, vague references, ciphers and hidden clues to the lootís location. The general whereabouts of the treasure is revealed in these pages, along with some very specific directions. I have tried to give several hints on the state and the specific area. I even went as far as to give the most exact indications possible. There will still be some searching and discovering required, even once you have a firm grasp on the location. Yes, there are some diversions and smelly amber fish to throw you off the scent. All you need is in the book.

It is hidden on public land, so donít go trudging through private places, peopleís yards or areas you know would be overly difficult for something like this to be hidden. Please use common sense- if it seems improbable it is probably just that and not at that location.

BTW: There is no time limit, it is simply there until it is found. I have locked away the solutions and advised folks on what to do...if....?

If you read and follow the clues in this book you assume all risks and agree to understand all laws of the state you live in and/or think the treasure is in. Know that this book is both a story and a puzzle created for amusement. Realize that you are in no way obligated to go in search of treasure that may reveal itself. And, if you do go in search, someone may have gotten to it ahead of you. Thatís life. You might be the one to find it though, you never know. In any case, I hope you have fun. I will certainly try my best to let you know if it is found.

I HATE disclaimers. Just be safe. - Domino

Default FROM RUSTY on NEW HUNTS post

POST FROM RUSTY (transfered over from New Hunts)-

    COWBOY- A Treasure Hunt
The obvious first clue for me is the Rush angle. The Trees by Rush. The author is amongst the trees as he buried the treasure. Notice the deliberate pentagram of rocks on top of the treasure burial site. Notice the pentagram on the front of my car:

What do cowboys, Rush, trees, pentagrams, and treasure have in common?

    -Rusty

    COWBOY- A Treasure Hunt

"I ordered the book, but I don't have it yet. Given only the video, the only important hint I can gather is the pentagram of rocks. Perhaps it gives significance to the lyrics of "The Trees". Perhaps it is a reference, via the Rush music, to the number 2112. Maybe 2112 is a crib to one of the ciphers in the book.

I like this ship, it's exciting"

    Rusty

Note: I simply transfered this over from the New Hunts thread. Dont read into it...or do?
(see, if I transfer it is sounds like a hint, agreement or red herring it is not)- Domino

Actually, I think the rock pentagram puzzle is a little different from what I first thought. Your flying saucer puzzle gave me the idea that you may be giving a clue with how you reordered the rocks. I'm confused why you moved one of them. It definitely gave me the impression that their placement, and their order, was deliberate and important.

    -Rusty

p.s. Why was the 2nd 'o' in the word cowboy written on the box shaded in? Why, black dragon, I ask you why?

Just to keep you thinking...or I smeared the ink when writing it and had to go all scribble scribble on it.

OK, I already have my first guess for the city/town based on the video.
