    Default Chapter 13 - Pride

Using my Decoder ring that came with my copy of Cowboy, I converted the backwards text. It actually reads, "THERE IS MORE AND LESS ON THIS PAGE."

BTW, I was kidding about the decoder ring, DO NOT ask Domino why you did not get one...

    Default Brands

Wow - I can't believe that this is only the 2nd post in this thread!

Given There is More and Less on this page, there are 36 total brands on the page, MORE than the 26 of the alphabet, could be letters + numbers, BUT

There are 10 brands that are REFLECTED, and only 16 unique brands, which is LESS than the 26 letters of the alphabet

SO, if we are to take only ONE of each reflected brand plus the unique brands, we have a tidy sum of 26. hmm

    OR

Are the reflected brands meant to represent letters of the alphabet that actually are reflections or mirror independent? However, there are 16 independent letters (AMUVWYBCDEHIKOTX) and 10 dependent letters (FGJLNPQRSZ) aargh

    ...

Yes, 26 is the number, and I suppose it helps us form a basis for decoding the brand styled message on that other page...now where has my book gone to?

Wow... now I'm going to have to consider reflected versus non-reflective letters...

With all the palindromic stuff, that makes sense. Which letters look the same in the mirror?

AHIMOTUVWXY and which ones don't - BCDEFGJKLNPQRSZ. Now I have 11 and 15 respectively. But what if we use thoes as sizzle someplace? I've just doomed myself to entire days picking through this stuff...

So for instance, ASH LAST ORB would be ABABA BAABB... If we look at the things with multiples of five, maybe that will help us... or maybe it is a big blue fish... (sorry, tired of giving myself the red ones...lol)

So if you apply that philosophy to the CCDHHHFDCD, you get AAABB BAAAA, which may have solved the entire puzzle! I get it! Domino buried the treasure in a Blizzard! lol...

So in other words, don't know if there's anything to that... Just trying things out on paper...

Yeah, I know... dead end... sorry...

By process of elimination of the reflected brands not listed anywhere else in the book, almost the entire top row and the leftmost column can be crossed out, leaving a 5x5 matrix plus the IF brand in the top row. This could represent the 26 letters of the alphabet, but in what order?

I've tried the 5x5 matrix with the usual alphabetic order in rows from left to right. Then I've tried finding brands elsewhere in the book and applying this 5x5 table to see if anything makes sense. Nada. So I tried the 5x5 in other orders too. Going around in a circle didn't result in anything. Starting at the bottom instead of the top didn't make sense out of the brands. Has anyone had any success putting them in some sensible order? It almost seems obvious that the brands stand for letters of the alphabet, but do they? Maybe they are not an alphabet.
