What does it say inside the star? Can anyone make it out? I've tried enlarging it, changing the brightness, adjusting the contrast, etc...and still I can not read it. Domino, is there a better copy?
Hi Genetic,
I noticed the tiny black things in the star. Photoshop, when you zoom it, just turns into undefinable pixels. Perhaps the rendering Domino is using is a simple bit map and lacks clarity from the web. This does not appear to be a vector drawing but it rises suspicion anyway. Unless it's crummy ink, the star may have a message.
I find it interesting the Ace card has light blue ink line background. I don't remember any cards I dealt with had that.
Could "A" "J" be 21? as in poker or someone's initials? Andrew Jackson, Alan Jackson? Makes ya think. The symbols are bit map like and I could not find a font that worked. How is this connected to the previous hint? Hmmm...
Beth
Okay, I found the Ace and Jack cards with the light blue ink line background. If you google "blackjack" and click images, you'll see it on p. 3. It opens up into Casino Tips, BlackJack, Slots, Poker Blinds and Odds Calculator Tools. The black star could have come form a stock image which you can view in wikimedia. It's not set as a jpg so it's hard to see detail without getting bit map blur in photoshop. But, hey...I've just barely scratched the surface of this puzzle and it probably doesn't help micro inspecting this.
on on,

I think I have most of this clue figured out - kinda stuck on the two small phrases at the top along with Cardio Fit. In the loosest sense, each of those words and digraphs could substitute for a letter in Cardio Fit, but that wouldn't make much sens with respect ot the Cowboy puzzles.
Anyone have any thoughts on what those are and how they can be used?

I am a bit confused here.
Most of the puzzle all points back to a certain reference, like overkill, that is used in conjunction with part 2.
But there are almost half the lines that were essentially unused to spell a name
The Cardio fit line with CD and HS are separate and used elsewhere - no other connection with any other part of clue 1 or 2 or the referenced thing.
Where are we going with those unused lines and how to connect the link to the separate and elsewhere?
I'll spell this out for ya... of the two hints (you folks make this harder on yourself than needed sometimes)...
- Cards go with cards = elsewhere. May help with solve a mystery for some. Period.
- Some cards can also point you in a simple direction in addition (let's call it a dual role) to the elsewhere that they go. But, it could be as simple as, oh say, the value of the said cards just getting you to the correct, oh, let's say, page referenced by the remainder of the puzzle(s) from that hint; which you would know anyway if you owned the book.
- More importantly, everything else goes with the book.
Alas, please keep in mind that Twelevers are not the only people or perspective from which COWBOY is being worked therefor, my tweets are more for a widespread audience and not catering to any one person, group or way of thinking. There is quite often the chance that where a hint leads you- the Twelver- is to somewhere you already are or to something you already know or assume- posted, private pm'd, written in you notes or otherwise.
Hunt Happily.

I am still stuck on the CARDIO FIT and the lines that end with "coup". I have no idea what they go with. I don't see how they go with any cards.
And what about the left-over words? Do they get used somewhere?
I get the "simple direction in addition and the dual role", but I think there are two pages that are referenced, not just one.
Was the hint that Steve mentioned, the one that was overkilled, to be used with the book? Or just with the hint?
I am still stuck.
