I like it, too... my son showed me the whole page online.

    *great*!

I use this Anagram engine, and use the advanced modes.
    http://www.wordsmith.org/anagram/advanced.html

This program allows you to look for specific words, and then once I see a word that I may think important, I remove those letters from the entry, and rerun it.

This helps to narrow the choices for other words.
The only token I found was SQUAT!!!

I love wordsmith.org--- I originally got involved with that great site through my Harry Potter obsession (severus snape= perseus evans and whatnot.)

My question is: has anyone seen a downloadable anagram program
    ?
If you can't be a good example, be a terrible warning.

there are some you can purchase online... do a google search for "anagram solver" and you'll get the links!
Over 1,000 miles travelled in search of 1 token.

Tokens found: zero. (no, I don't expect I'll have to edit this)

    Currently working on: Firefly, beetle.

    Couple of suggestions:

This link will take you to a site that lists lots of "shareware".

    http://www.sharewareconnection.com/

Search there for "anagram solver" and you will see the offerings.

    AND/OR

Search HERE and you can see the offerings, AND the reviews.

    http://www.cnet.com/

Example: the customer review for the free download listed both here and on the "ShareWare Connection: site: 'crosswordtools' - is not too laudatory. Seeing that I'd probably stick with wordsmith....or perhaps www.easypeasy.com. Personally, I prefer wordsmith because you don't have to wade thru all the spam to get to your results.

The second result (TEA Crossword Helper) sounds interesting, but it's $39.99 to buy after a trial.
