    Default Ye Nomenclature of Ceaser Ciphers

    Hey all-

    I'm spending a lot of time confusing myself, so maybe someone could clear the air for me.

    How do you name a Ceaser Cipher?

    Say I know that the cipher will look like this:

    Code:
    A.B.C.D.E.F.G.H.I.J.K.L.M.N.O.P.Q.R.S.T.U.V.W.X.Y.Z
    W.X.Y.Z.A.B.C.D.E.F.G.H.I.J.K.L.M.N.O.P.Q.R.S.T.U.V
    Have I just created a +5 cipher, because the A is in the 5th spot?
    Or is it a +4 cipher?

    I would call it -4 because you are going "backwards" in the alphabet (or +22)

    Caesar shifts are commonly designated by the amount you shift or rotate the letters. The nomenclature is ROT X, where X is the shift "to the right".
    For example, in ROT 3 you shift "A" over three spots to the "D" position.

    If I need +5, +6, and +7 ciphers, the following are the ones I should use:
