    Lightbulb Encrypted digital communications

    Anyone interested in some discussion based around encrypted digital communications?

    I'm very interested in it and have been looking for a way to better incorporate test sessions and real life examples. What better way that to solicit few interested parties to discuss the technologies and trade keys to play with?

    It would also be fun. You can encrypt that hunt solution you've been working on and ensure the identity of your internet treasure comrades!

    Some links for an idea of stuff I'd like to tinker with:

    OpenPGP.org - Downloads

    Tomb :: The Crypto Undertaker :: dyne.org

    https://otr.cypherpunks.ca/

    Ping this thread if you are into this stuff or if you'd like to learn. I'd be happy to teach someone who just had interest how to get started - no better way to learn that to teach - so if you are even remotely interested let me know!

    I use Win 8.1 on an i7 laptop. If you recommend linux, I'd be happy to go that route. Embarrising to say, I still feel like a beginner with linux even though I used it often in the early 90's.

    No problem - we can totally manage this from the top!

    Give me a bit to come up with a plan. I think what I'd like to try is a tutorial based on a Live CD of some type (just boot to CD and run of RAM). This would allow anyone to get started no matter OS.

    Thanks for your interest and happy new year!

    You can take a whack at getting a quick and temporary Debian running via LiveCd here:

    Let me know if you get it running - I'll be thinking on moving the discussions towards use based on crypto needs.

    I have Linux Mint running on a desktop already. Will that suffice? Its in the kids room so I'll have to sit in a kindergarten sized chair..

    I haven't actually used Mint but it should work! Do you know if it's the Debian version?

    I'll get a PGP doc together.
