That only accounts for the dark colored leaves, right?

What about the light colored leaves?

only uses dark leaves,
only on half the wreaths,
only using half of each wreath.

this seems an incredibly wasteful puzzle.
(or i suppose you coukd say well disguised?)

It might not be that wasteful.

In the last book, there were simple morse codes layered on top of the actual puzzle that led you to the solution. In that book, it was the gaps between the morse code that were key.

The statement *You can't get there from here*, says to me, You'll have to go another way. There may be a different type puzzle here. I haven't had the time to really try something with letters yet, but I will.

I don't think it's possible to put the light leaves into morse code, there's not enough spacing...

That's the number of lights in each wreath used for the morse code. These have to be used somehow, with a message like "You can't get in through there" these light leaves have to be involved...

ana's right sleeve has '17' on it,, the hair color on top tree house door looks like a chapter letter font.
