Sorry - I posted my reply in the wrong section. Duh......(furballs aren't known for their mental clarity.....)

    Illustration of the Pompous Fellow:
Since the words in the frames seem to make sense in relation to the story....any ideas about the word "H O E" in the frame of the "Pompous Fellow"? Seems odd since it doesn't really fit the story like the rest of the words do.

Isn't there also a "C" in that frame that you might want to include?

Look to "Masquerade" CW. Great similarities. Hoping the letters are dealt with the same way.

    Red letters: DLIASNEUETNNYKECNECHOHERCTINELNHTORDEAMSRPAMIEFDNE ISDIMWONNAIMRBORAUURETFOEVL

    page 5: DLIASN
    page 7: EUETNN

    page 15: CNECH
    page 17: OH
    page 29: ERCTINEL

    page 34/5: DNEIS
    page 40: DIMW
    page 44/5: ONNAIM
    page 47: RBORA
    page 51: UURETF
    page 55: OEVL

    Blue letters: PACEOFRYTSOTUH

    page 5:
    page 7: P
    page 11:
    page 15: A
    page 17: CE
    page 19: OF
    page 23:

    page 30:
    page 32: R

    page 40: SO
    page 44/5: TU
    page 47: H

    page 55:

The blue letters could be seperated into PACE OFRYT SOTUH and then switched into PACE FORTY SOUTH. That sounds pretty encouraging.

The red letters give the following frequencies:

Looks like a pretty good fit, so it may be a transpo. Although, a random sampling of English text could also produce this distribution.

I had taken the red and blue letters from each page and noticed that you can anagram them to form at least one word (which I will put in spoilers below):

    page 5: SNDLIA
    page 7: PNNEUET
    page 11: EYK
    page 15: CHCNAE
    page 17: HEOC
    page 29: EFLERCOTNI
    page 23: RNHTO
    page 26: SRDEMA
    page 30: PAM
    page 32: FRIE
    page 34/5: STDNEIY
    page 40: WDISMO
    page 44/5: UMONNATI
    page 47: RARHBO
    page 51: FUURTE
    page 55: LOEV

Taking the blue letters out in the order that I gathered the above letters, I got the order PAECFORTYSOUTH - so the FORTY SOUTH was in perfect order. Just the first four letters weren't in order.
