Default Page 17 - ONE OF FOUR

Some curious things I noticed on this page:

    - red, yellow, blue croquet balls and peg
    - red, yellow, blue border
    - red, yellow, blue, pink corner stars
    - large arrow cut into grass
    - SFP, Downeast Times, who is the geezer?
    - projector eminating light rays
    - numeral grid in newspaper
    - letters in chimeny masonry
    - one whale on pants is a key
    - TREA(sure) newspaper headline
    - flagpole is a ship's mast
    - key flag on flagpole
    - distinct vertical line drawn through blue border section and along tea bag line
    - distinct horizontal line through knee
    - both lines form a cross in about same proportions as flagpole, but upside-down
    - who is Cohen?
    - Salvador Dali style newspaper suggests clocks or time codes
    - "Down" in Downeast is hanging straight down

    It's not a place, it's a yearning. It's not a race, it's a journey.

I'm not seeing the vertical line. Also, are you calling the thing in his hand the tea bag? I was thinking that was either a watch chain, or a pull string for the mini-cannon or projector under the tablecloth.

I don't see a vertical line, either. I took to the string to be a pull-string for the cannon. I also took the "large arrow cut into grass" as another key.

I think you are right on the key in the grass, Molnar.

The S.P.F. on the flag - the man also has those letters partially hidden on his jacket, so that it is difficult to tell if the second letter is a P or F. The P on the flag is slightly larger than the other two letters - when embroidering a monogram, it is customary to put the surname initial in the center and make it larger than the other initials. So it is possible that our man's initials are actually S.F.P.

The verticle line is drawn through the string he is holding. It cuts along the border through the one blue section that is different from the others.

I assumed the string was a tea bag string because he is enjoying some tea. I also assumed the thing under the table was a projector and not a cannon because the text says he has "no gun". I'm thinking it is a hint to "project" the lines.

The light green grass pattern could be a key. When I hold the page upside down, it looked like an arrow pointing at the house. But it is not pointing at much in particular. So, I guess it is a key.

That line/string is also similar to the one on page 30.

Yes, Ol' Harley's plumb bob. Harley says "It nurtures a trace...". Maybe this is a clue to trace or draw lines.

Page 30 also has a strange compass with East and West reversed.

    Interesting about the compass-

the book on top has the number/date of 1957, if we switch the middle(like east and west) then that would be 1759 and an important date for the island.

"In 1759, after a century and a half of conflict, British troops triumphed in Quebec, ending French dominion in Acadia."-quoted

could this be a clue for one of the techniques used?

The newspaper reads COHEN TO RU

I thought that this might be Cohen to Rule, as in a judge or magistrate. I need to do some research there.

I thought it would be "Cohen to Run" but I didn't follow up on it yet.
