    Default RE: Cadillac Year

I'm convinced, that the Cadillac shown is of 1959 vintage, because that was the only year they used the "jet-pod" taillights in the vertical fins. Before and after that year, the fin taillight was a vertical lens ...

I have been working on the sign post.
The distances seem to be about 30% higher than 'Driving' distances.
Some are off further like Montreal at 8% and Kennebunkport at 74%.
I'm thinking maybe the numbers have different uses and have been adjusted up or down within 9 points to make it fit something.

There are also 2 'blocked signs.
The one 17th from the top is Norumbega Mountain.
The top one ends in _land. I believe this is Orland which is 36 miles NW.

One other thing: It's 9:30 on his watch.
The story says they drive up there at the end of the day (sunset).
    According to this website: http://www.sunrisesunset.com/
The latest sunset this year at Bar Harbor is on June 27th at 8:21 pm.
Maybe I am wrong about the time? Could it be 6:50?
I don't think so judging the way the minute and hour hands move on a watch.

    Hi Zkhammer!

Gerbers may be right IF you presume (correctly) that the watch face is suppose to be read by the wearer.

Oof! Hard to see without magnification. If the author(s) wanted US to read the time, it would be 4:00 instead. I could see a star on the watch, which I suspect was a 12 "number". That helped to see the 4:00 time.

    I hope this helped .

    Your friend,
    Beth

    Hi beth!
I see what your saying, and that makes a lot of sense. I didn't take into account the fact that if he looked at his hand he wouldn't want the clock to be upside down. So you are right, i made an obvious mistake. the question now is whether or not it is relevant..
