The only buoy that matters is 671. It confirms to SPF flag on the Pompous Fellow page 176 (alpha substitution descending)

Hi again! I am totally lost as to how the buoy is of significance. Using your method of descending alpha substitution, would it become UTZ? What does that mean?

The crab is clawing at the yellow block.

The frame letters entirely on top of yellow blocks:

NOT IN (the crab, lobster, and a fish are not in their containers).

    TO INN

    Yes, as Rusty showed.

    However, it is also multi-coded.

The MDI is at the 44th parallel.

This is p. 23, and much of the island is at 23 minutes North.

The "AEO" s, that they showing, are coding a more accurate location corresponding to the apex of the NORTH WEST cove, which is what you named this thread.

    Default Raise "THE WIND"

    .
Great image page, coded directions et al.

    But, for something more ...

Here's a possibility in the instructions "raise 'THE WIND' ( or just "raise the 'WIND'" ), which may be a hind to Ceasar shift.

For example, a shift backward by five letters results in

    THE WIND
    OCZ RDIY

    which is an anagram of

    RID COZY

or just using a forward shift by 1

    W-IN-D
    X-JO-E

    ( just examples )

I've been reviewing old notes and some of the illustrations for about the millionth time. I don't remember seeing this mentioned anywhere, so thought I'd mention it here. I apologize is this is old news!

I have seen the connection between the buoys 1,10 & 36 to the corresponding counted bars of red, orange and green, and the blue/red/blue buoy matching the lower right corner colors. The key on that buoy suggests that this is a starting point.

I had not realized, though, that the colors of this inner border are the same 5 colors used for the outer page borders: Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow and Green. This is the only inner border that has just these 5 colors.

I started looking for repeating patterns of these 5 colors and found 3 sets in the combination of RBYOG.

The first set of RBYOG is in the upper left corner, the first 5 bars starting with the red corner bar, going right across the top border. This is the NW corner of the illustration, the border phrase reads NORTH WEST, and the lobsterman is pointing up to this area.

The second set of RBYOG is in the lower right corner, the first 5 bars starting with the red corner bar, going left across the bottom border. This is the SE corner of the illustration, the border phrase reads SOUTH EAST, and the crab is pointing down to this area.

The third set of RBYOG is along the left border, starting with the red bar that is next to the letter S of RAISE and goes up the left border to the green bar which is next to the letter T of THE. Reading between the first and last bars is RaiSE The, or SET. Could this be telling us to use this 'set' of colors - in this order?

As an aside, on the right border, between the E of WHISTLE and the T of TUNE, spells EAT. Between these letters is the illustration of a [hungry?] seagull and a bucket of fish. I wondered if this ties in with the old lady border, "A Feast Of Words."

There is also the possible clue that Count To Three could mean Count 23, or count something on page 23. We do have to count 1, 10, 36 on page 23. Count To Three could also be telling us to count the 3 sets of this repeating pattern - on page 23

So... any thoughts or other observations on this?
