Whatever I feel like I wanna do. Gosh!
The word in the frame is "MAP"
Don't know where I'm going...but I know I'm almost there!
I see that the topographical map shown on page 30 is arranged so that the degrees of longitude and latitude are visible -- 68W and 44N. That gives everyone a start, I guess.
I was watching an episode of Jeopardy this week, and one of the answers was N.C. Wyeth. That got me thinking. I rememebered the book on this page, Treasure Island, by R.L.S. with the name N.C. Wyeth also on the spine.
There was a famous edition of Treasure Island illustrated by N.C. Wyeth from 1911. You can find the illustrations online.
Turns out, Wyeth and family were famous Mainers. There is a museum down in the Rockland area.
I guess it is just more Maine historical trivia. But there does seem to be a reason why each book is on the shelf.
The bottle of wine from 1957 bugs me. The Russians sent up Gagarin in 1957 to "circle the globe" in space for the first time. The Harley character sure looks Russian to me.
