FANDANGO - THE KEY TO THE WIND When the Sea-King Neptune falls in love with the Goddess of the Wind, he attempts to send her a token of his affection, a golden key. He seeks the help of Fandango, the clever fox, to deliver his gift. But when Fandango reaches the Goddess he discovers the key is lost. Where the key is lost is the mystery of FANDANGO.

For example, NEARS on pp. 34 / 35 (or, SNARE if the star penetration into the S is taken as the first - or last ? - letter).

And, TREK is given on p. 32 (thus, the STAR TREK).

But, for example, on p. 40, the PE is given and looks to be confirmed by the wheat (?) pointing to the 16,5 (alpha-numeric) on the grid. So, that I take more seriously.
Having previously organized the star hits according to color and proximity, it was only yesterday that I realized that simply beginning upper left, and working clockwise, on p. 40, yields

HOPES

WISDOM

Hi Rob,

You've quoted yourself as using the "direct points", close range frame letters where the ray does not penetrate the picture.; however, it looks like you have had to stray through the painting in order to pick up the H... is that correct?

Could this illustration be directing us to the St. Saviour's Episcopal church in Bar Harbor?
Direct quote taken from the website:
It is claimed that St. Saviour's has more Tiffany windows than anywhere else in Maine! There are ten beautiful examples of Louis Comfort Tiffany's technique and artistry here at St. Saviour's. We have a total of forty two stained glass windows in all.
St. Saviour's Episcopal Church of Bar Harbor, Maine - Our History

It seems the stained glass in the window is somewhat noteworthy, especially with the key embedded in the glass. Also I was looking at the alter in the church through a few images on google and its seal interested me. Here is some history of the origins of the Episcopal church.

Hi Kelly,

You're totally correct on that. In fact, the only two letters I could pick up on the "direct" (and close) were the PE.

And, still not putting any heavy bet on the long range method (although agree that the "triangulation" at long range could be effective).

However, I look at a lot of approaches, and have tried the long-range, and so far have found the single hits ambiguous. So, that's why I was a bit surprised that the word HOPES was directly spelled out using some long-range hits - especially as the word could fit in thematically with the other material (DREAMS, WISDOM).

The wheat (?) is indicating the central two columns in the number grid.

Using alpha-numeric substitution, the left column yields

PROF

which seems to align with the picture.

The two columns together yield

PROOFED
