Whatever I feel like I wanna do. Gosh!
... and with a key in the water and a key in the tail
our intrepid matchmaker may beat us to the trail!
Has anyone ever noticed... Of all the painted borders on all of the images, this red one appears to have been added electronically after the fact. Was there a painted border that was covered with red in the published version? Curious...

Interesting point. With the "Hidden Away" (key) illustration (p. 11) it's also the only inner border that is not a pattern. The inner border on the key illustration is painted on, and looks like a picture frame at the corners. I'm looking at the published version and you're absolutely right that the sharp edges and corners of the "Two Together" inner border looks like something added by a computer.
There hasn't been much discussion about this illustration. There are the keys - in his tail and the puddle. There are the rock faces, similar to the one behind the Indian on pg 32. There are images in the clouds - a couple of faces, a fairy, and the eagle flying overhead. The green and brown foliage in the foreground may suggest the passage of time, similar to the changing leaves on pg 5 (Fandango) and pg 19 (Nikon), as well as the seasonal changes of the trillium on pg 40 (Old Lady). Besides the fact that this is one of the "rough" paintings as well as the possible computer-generated border, does anyone have any other comments or observations about this page?
I think the location is Schooner Head
