    Default Blow The Whistle!

    Sue,

I tried to reach Stockwell Publishers at 84 State Street, Ste 300 in Boston. I called the management office there who told me that Stockwell vacated the premises 3 months ago, and NO forwarding address.

I also looked up 16 Chestnut Street as that was the address given by some folks who ordered books direct from the publisher. THis address is a townhouse that is now up for sale.

A search of Stockwell Publishers on the web yields no results other than Followthefox.com.

I had ordered a book through their website and was charged by paypal almost three weeks ago. The book has never arrived and their has been no email contact about shipping.

I have sent numerous messages to william@followthefox.com as well as through the contact page of their website, all to no avail.

I think it is time to seriously question the validity of this hunt and the ability of the sponsors to make good on any claims. I would hate to spoil the fun for everyone, as I have just ordered a book and am looking forward to working on this one.

Sue, I know you had at one time received an email from someone at Stockwell regarding the hunt. You may want to make some inquiries on behalf of Tweleve to get to the bottom of this.

    Thanks for your help!

    Steve

Interesting... it wouldn't surprise me if they jumped ship. With the way the economy is, many people are running from their businesses.

Target sells the book... At least you can get your hands on it through them.

    Hi Darkstar,

This is indeed distressing! I've put alot of time on this hunt and as is usually the case with me, have become very attached to the whole thing. My book has fallen apart. It would be nice to get a new copy to continue working with the hunt.

Thank you for finding an alternative. But I am worried if the quest to continue is worth it. Just to be on the safe side, do you have a recommendation of another hunt worth pursuing?

    Keep trovin',
    Beth

Thanks for the info, Steve. I had another email address for Pel, so I just sent an email asking about the status of the hunt and recently ordered books. I'll let you know as soon as I hear from him.

    Thanks Sue!

I do hope that the hunt is still on - it looks interesting and a nice diversion from Maranatha!

I could not find the first book I had picked up for this hunt. So the second one I received was mailed on 2/23/2009. Not too long ago. It was sent soon after pay pal verified my payment.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Steve. Guess this book goes on the shelf next to the MS ones.

What a bite in the butt, I think we've been had!!! If he's in financial trouble and left town, there's probably no treasure.
His introduction in the beginning of the book and his last line at the end now takes on a new meaning!

"I want to live a life the whole world talks about after I score that missing key."
Regarding the radio interview link post on this site; maybe they have a contact number for him?
Pel, if your out there, please respond to our concerns.

From what I know this book was a collaboration of Pel and Jeff Stockwell.

    From the Amazon site:
    About the Author
Boston based artist Pel Stockwell has collaborated with Los Angeles based screen-writer Jeff Stockwell (Bridge to Taribithea, Wilder Days), to create the mystical fantasy FANDANGO.
Amazon.com: Fandango - The Key to the Wind: Pel Stockwell / Jeff Stockwell, Pel Stockwell: Books

Jeff Stockwell from the wiki site:
Jeff Stockwell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not too much info out there so far.

Goodness, you go away for a while and another hunt bites the dust. If you don't receive your book report it to your credit card company. Good luck!
