Okay I am going to give away a very valuable hint, only because I believe that it has been taken
This is the puzzle i have worked longest and hardest at.
The acorns, I do believe, are divided into either Pairs, White line, Dark line, Facing Down, or Plain. However, they could also be divided by size -- the dark and white ones are the EXACT same size... although they don't look at it!! Refer to the treasure hunt guide book... there are a few exercises where he has you look at something with a white dot, and it looks bigger than the opposite image with a dark dot, however they are the same. That applies here. So there is the biggest size, regular sized, petite sized, smallest sized, and facing down (or up).
NOW... on to the important part. I believe the key is in the dark green leaves that I had earlier mentioned in another post. They are numbered 1-4, which I believe is the key to finding out which acorns are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The one left over that doesn't match one of those four is obviously labeled five.
That is where I had gotten stuck. Before finding the leaf numbers, I came up with an anagram that started with ARMY MMERICA but I believe it was purely coincidental because all the other letters were giberish. Also, the clues were very similar to the snails in the fact they have a "key" - the dark green leaves. Those are the answer.

Firefly located...NO TOKEN TO BE FOUND
I've got some pretty horrible news on the FIREFLY.
I solved this one yesterday, my friend from Kansas City drove to Oklahoma to retrieve it and, apparently, it is nowhere to be found at the location. I won't reveal the name of the park out of courtesy for those who are there searching--currently about 3. One couple has been there since Thursday, even bought a metal detector from Radio Shack--absolutely nothing. They poked in every nook and cranny in a 200 yard radius and found nothing.
It's possible that someone outside of the hunt found it...also possible that the person who found it has not reported it, nor have they left a note anywhere.
This person, whenever they surface, is possibly trying to solve other codes while keeping fellow trovers in limbo, searching endlessly for something that isn't there---which would be not too nice, to say the least.
I suppose in the end, we'll know the truth. For now, if you are the person who retrieved it, you should announce it so countless people don't waste their money on gas and their time to get out there. It's only polite.
Thanks,
Jason

Dear Jason,
According to the ATT site, the second person went to the site and there retrieved a note saying the token was found and gas money.
As to the truth of this, I don't know. However, it has been said to be "found".

Jessnet...
Well, that's all well and good, but the person also gave absolutely no indication as to where it was--something that a person finding a note would probably not mind sharing, just for verifications sake. Additionally, that is the only posting on the finding of FIREFLY at all. I mean, I see your point, but it doesn't really add up, which leads me to doubt.
I mean, why would someone drive 7 purported hours to find a note and gas money and not 1) leave the note (it's not there) and 2) post some information on the location. His account is totally devoid of anything useful or verifyable...Anyways, my friend Heather is staying the night and she's gonna look around some more and try to fiddle with other possible clues used in conjunction.
Thanks for your post, I hope I get more replies...

what map fragment?
your friend then still has a chance ... unless she feels she has searched the precise tree and found nothing. If there's an accompanying map fragment, that seems to get people very close - yet i dont see one for the Firefly. What did you use for that? I surrender on this one as well, whether it was done by acorn size, or 'type' i guess i'll learn someday.
But the absence of a map fragment seemed curious; however i thought the very odd shaped tree that the small firefly was on (p2
might be sufficient (if such a tree exists).

I definitely have had my own doubts about the person posting on ATT especially because they have not told how they solved the puzzle or anything! I agree the search must continute
-
I agree with you, Jamesrav...
I mean she's out there in the wilderness with her son, so I think she'll have a good time with him, regardless. But there was no map fragment, just that tree. The problem is that Heather doesn't have the book--only I do--and there's no cellphone reception out there...she has to drive about 5 miles away to get any reception.
Another thing about that guy who posted...he posted yesterday (Friday) and there has been someone there since Thursday and did not see any note or gas money. Noteworthy.
We're looking into something else right now, but we'll keep trying...
Thanks,
Jason

Wow- did someone really make a 5 hour drive to look for a token and not bring the book with them!?! Or am I misunderstanding something...

I also solved this one. I solved it Wednesday evening about 9:00. I live in Washington State. My husband was on a business trip in St. Louis. I called him at his hotel (woke him up- 11:00pm for him). I told him where it was so after he was finished with work on Thursday he changed his travel plans and drove to OK. When he got there he met the couple mentioned earlier. They did have a metal detector. He searched all day Friday and today until about noon (found nothing)
. He had to leave to catch his flight home. If it has been found I wish the finder would post, to save anyone else the trouble and expense of looking.
Still Tokenless
