Not confirmed yet, but a poster on ATT is reporting that he was the second to the firefly site; finding only a note and some gas money!

Hard to believe... why post that you're second and you're going to wait an hour to post details...
There's been a lot of these posts lately. I'm going to start leaving notes on every tree I pass![]()
lol; notes saying neiner, neiner!![]()
Wow, and isn't the firefly worth a lot of money?? I mean, I don't have my book in front of me, but I remember it being worth a lot. If so, then that doesn't leave me with a lot of hope about the spider. I think this whole thing is all wrapped up. Seriosuly, all the work people did on this book is going up in smoke, lol

....has spiraled out of control once again. There is a fevered pitch in the air...and I can believe that Ted's friend would not go 1 1/2 hours from Omaha after work at 5 CST to get to the snail token about 2 hours before it was found! and I give props to Andy's brother who DID drive 6 hours across the states to check, but to arrive too late, getting there at 2am, much, much, much to our regret to be probably be the second one to the site, but the first to see the spike with a note on it saying that someone had found the token there last night. I'm dying to figure out the acorn code and claim my large prize...but until then...
I too would be very surprised if Firefly was as simple as the others-- I would have to assume that MS designed this to reveal a flurry of activity, followed by a drawn-out and hard-fought finale. Despite his earlier comments that no one puzzle was significantly harder than the next.

I have a different opinion. I can't believe MS would have expected this level of information sharing. It certainly surprises me. From his interviews, it sounded like he was bent on releasing hints on his website to foster the first token find. And now several tokens have been found, with no relationship to the released hints.
I am guessing the rash of finds the past two weeks has surprised him. I will be interested to hear his comments about it.

That is certainly a valid possibility, and quite probable at that. But I think Clue 2 did present many of these concepts to us beforehand-- I remember discussing this after it was solved. Many simple puzzles, but they results must be integrated to get the overall solution. And no one piece alone is sufficient, but each is necessary. Plus, the visual hammering of a letter-filled grid didn't hurt.

Well, maybe. Conceptually that sounds good.
But what strikes me now about the solutions to the tokens found thus far is the simplicity of the clues. Most of the stuff discussed on the forums until your find was way way way beyond that solution in complexity.
I'm just saying tht maybe his hints so far were for other puzzles not yet cracked. Who knows?
