Approximity to the North Star (Polaris)

    Known as the Queen

Configured as a W during the spring and summer
and as a M during the autumn and the winter

Not seen in the southern hemisphere

    Approximity to the CAM constellation

Yes, Cassiopea was discussed in THAT thread,
but I saw nothing of an agreement or a recent
    discussion.

And I only brought up new points.

    Here's a discussion:

Chose a City ..... Can this be not a mispelling,
but an inidcation of the change of
speaker. (Past tense are the author
    Present tense are the reader.)

City is capitalized because it refers to a state capital,
the only cities specifically 'starred' in the book.

Can someone determine when this was installed??

    Pre-1982?

    See fourth entry.

As is stated, it is commonly known to locals.

    "Some stars st night
    Rest on the horizon
    Be very quiet for
    You might wake one up"

    Isn't this the motto of

    "Let sleeping bears lie"

One thougt on the stars & cities...

I'm not sure about other states, but in MN we have some cities that get a special rating, they are recognized by the city for something or another-they are called "a star city". It is shown on the population signs of the city.

The states I have lived in,
    New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania,
Illinois, Kansas do not have that city
    distinction.

Do you know if that was adopted prior
    to 1982?

From a local news website...it looks like it started in 1981.

"Mark Lofthus works for the state of Minnesota. He said the "Star City" program began in 1981 with the idea that cities needed to be more engaged in working in economic development. "
