Default PDF different from scroll in Compendium.

Wow. I just compared the pdf I have with the compendium version and they are different. The lower half is basically the same with one exception, the "Attributed to later revision" is in blue ink.
The upper half has a # of differences.
    1. Backstaff is placed below the blue E.
    2. Blue coastlines are slightly offset from the pdf.
3."French naval sextant..." passage is blue and lower than the pdf. Some words are now over the octant.

The text overall seems to be the same, capitals, misspellings etc. but I haven't gone over it with a fine toothed comb.
Just found this to be interesting.

Do you have a scanner where you could scan the book into your computer and show us the images? I would like to check that out too!
    Like Contests???

Cool Laffite. Thanks for the update and observation. The Attributed to Later Revision phrase has always bugged me. I have pages of anagrammed notes on this. One of my favorite was using just the Later Revision part: Isle Not A River or River Not An Isle but there are many more in my note pile.

(a haha....Of course, if we go back, way back, to what Honest Abe said, all BLUE should be discounted because the E is blue and behind the backstaff which points to WRONG...and on and on...but, if the E is *now not behind the backstaff, anything goes)

*If the compendium was put together after Abe theorized this, a correction/adjustment may have been made.

    Nice.

My scanner bit the dust after lovely Katrina paid us a visit. Had to replace other items first and never got around to this. Lafitte

The differences between the scroll and the compendium version are pretty interesting. It looks like Evan moved the backstaff for layout reasons. It no longer points to the word "wrong", so that cannot be a clue. Also, the thin vertical white-ish line no longer goes through the red tombstone marker. The thin line remained where it was, while the tombstone and the blue jigsaw puzzle piece it sits on was moved to the right. I always figured the line going through the tombstone was significant. Now we know it was not a clue.

There are other differences. Most look unimportant, but one is interesting. It involves a clue we have not discussed yet. This one does lie along the white line. It was moved in the compendium version, but it still remained along the white line. I am now convinced this is a clue, perhaps one naming the park or local area.

Actually M.G. is on the 20th. of Feb. Not really early compared to years past. Hopefully it will be sunny so glitter will sparkle!
Rusty, are you refering to the triangular piece of blue coastline south of the tombstone?
Also another difference is at the top of the scroll. The compendium does not have a dark tombstone like shape above the 68 degrees spot.

    I'm referring to this:

The dark tombstone shadow is a feature of the red leather portfolio the scroll sits on top of. He moved the whole scroll across this portfolio a bit, covering the shadow. That was actually supposed to be a hole in the leather where the tiedown strap goes through.

Great. The core of my observations turns out to be based on either a mistake in the original scroll design or a ham-handed attempt at a red herring that was deemed overreaching and removed. Might as well throw my scroll away now. Keeping it would be like a broken pencil - pointless.

Hey Abe, good to hear from you. What were your observations? May as well post them now.

I already did - Dom mentioned them above. You know, backstaff pointing to 'wrong' and all that rubbish. Must have made quite an impression if they are altogether forgotten already!
